Why can't we use freesat/non-freesat mode simultaneously on HDR?

I have a Humax HDR and I'm finding it to be a great bit of kit. The only thing that irks me now is having to switch between modes depending on which channel you want to watch.

Of course if you have scheduled recordings you then also have to remember to change things back or they won't start!

Surely we could just have the freesat (paid up) channels on 101-999 and non-freesat channels on 5001 upwards?

Why the extra measure?

I think it's to protect the viewer from content which hasn't been allocated to the freesat EPG. Can't think of any other possible reason.

Because it's a Freesat box - and broadcasters pay to be on their EPG - non-Freesat mode is only there to comply with EU regulations, just like Add Channels on a Sky box.

Add channels would solve the problem though, a much better system!

Because it is a Humax and they could not care less about what makes for a good user experience.

Haha that's what I was thinking! It's even worse than Non-Freesat mode.
