I think the BBC is fast becoming the default channel because of the wealth of its older-skewing hits and dramas across the week.
This week, I've enjoyed stunning drama, the only British drama that could ever compete in the US: Ashes to Ashesand Doctor Who.
ITV just can't compete anymore at all in that sense, and its budget is now extremely tight when it comes to drama.
Though, it really ought to start taking a few more risks again with drama and comedy.
Benidorm and TV Burp are the UK's best two comedies at the moment, in audience and in appreciation...both young(ish) skewing.
The X Factor, Britain's Got Talent and I'm a Celeb... are among the UK's best ratings pullers, and are most watched reality shows by some distance.
Monday Night Thrillers is still an extremely strong brand, which regularly attracted up to and over 7 million viewers last year...
Doc Martin is still officially Britain's most watched drama series...
Emmerdale and Coronation Street continue to pull big audiences if given consistent scheduling...like its Monday editions...
Take Me Out is the most exciting new gameshow in the UK, and a cult hit at the same time...
So as platforms go, ITV's is not bad at all considering all of its flops this year...
However, no favours are being given to the broadcaster's reputation by slotting these very cheap reality shows on Friday evenings, which will lead to really, really small audiences...
Look how these tactics have perhaps destroyed Tuesday's forever! So, schedule the drama repeats on Friday's, because they regularly pull 4m+, even in the summer...
