An emphatic return for the CSI there. Channel 4 Scheduling Idiots, in case anyone other than myself were wondering.
Putting on new shows on at 23:05 just in my view is really stupid - Channel 4 seems one of those channels which has a 'short sighted schedule' where it only focuses on the next 2/3 weeks instead of looking right ahead. BBC1 was a channel which had a 'long sighted schedule', I remember hearing a quote that the schedules are formed initially six months to a year in advance, but its clear in past months that its turned into a 'short sighted schedule', although arguably nights like last night do not help.
Regarding the Channel 4 schedule above, I think the original plan must have been to have Come Dine with Me Special in the Sunday, 8pm slot, but Britain's Got Talent on ITV1 left that a 'no go' area, which in turn appears to have scuppered the rest of the schedule, because in my view, The Million Pound Drop has no chance in the 10pm, but I think Channel 4 will be pleased with 1.5 million approx.

Well, The Prisoner I see on later, unsurprisingly. It'll be a mystery though to me why they have not dumped it, mind you, its a mystery how it even made the air!
As for Coronation Street, it might be a good idea if someone 'keeps track' of this, because it will almost certainly be jumping all around the schedule until the middle of July. At the moment, we have (should be >> will be):
24/05, 19:30 >> 24/05, 19:00
24/05, 20:30 >> 26/05, 19:30
27/05, 20:30 >> 27/05, 20:30, back in sync
28/05, 19:30 and 28/05, 20:30
EastEnders could go down to potentially a record low, whereas the BBC Three repeat could hit a record high.
I thought I'd e-mail ITV, by the way, to see if they had a proper reason for not having Election coverage from 19:30 to 21:00 yesterday. I sent them this:
Quote:
“Hi,
May I ask why ITV1 did not break away from normal schedule from 7:30pm to 9:00pm to screen the Prime Minister 'changeover', after all it is an event of national importance?
Cheers,
Dave.”
To which they replied:
Quote:
“Dear Dave
Thank you for your email.
The election coverage was an ITN presentation. In order for your views to be registered with ITN, please resend your email to the following email address:-viewer_liaisonc3@itn.co.uk
May I take this opportunity to thank you for taking the time to contact us here at ITV.

I've replied back since (with no reply off them), but its ITV that do their schedules for their channel, ITN would have no control over whether they go into an ITV News Special, would they? Its ITV's choice whether they choose to do so or not, even if they appear to have sent back what I'd call a "standard response" and actually totally ignored my question.
