He's in from the 24th to cover the England friendlies. A shame though ITV didn't handle the situation much better as they had a half decent portfolio of games to split between Rider and Chiles through to the end of the World Cup. Matt Smith though really benefiting from it.
I'd expect the live stages will be considering BGT is.

Notice Marco's Ratings Burnout has picked up slightly, as you would expect as the final approaches, but 2.5 million is still pathetic considering Hell's Kitchen, itself not a massive ratings success, was achieving 4 million at a similar stage last year. Maybe ITV1 should reconsider the whole celebrity/ reality genre as it does seem to be so noughties now.

Because it was agreed that his first match would be the England friendly. Matt Smith gets the FA Cup final & the Champions League final. Thats just the way things were agreed after Steve Rider was paid off to exit his contract early.

I would. Total yawnfest. The worst bit is when they give the panel 'scenarios' to improvise... fast-forward time.
And the difference between it and Screenwipe is that Screenwipe is/was actually good. The best bits of YHBW are basically the Screenwipe-esque clips - the worst bits are everything else. :yawn:
It would be good to see the ratings for just the actual match, ie 3.00-3.45 and 4.00 to 4.45, maybe adding 5 mins to each slot for the injury/stoppage time - those pundits must really send the viewers to the fridge in droves.

I agree, it's a terrible format and I normally really like Brooker. He really should bring Screenwipe back instead, which doesn't seem to have had a full series for a long time.
In fact, looking at the latest BARB ratings I think Celebrity Juice on ITV2 may actually be beating You Have Been Watching, as in the most recent set of officials, Celebrity Juice got 829,000 with another 215,000 on +1. YHBW didn't make C4's top 30, but its overnights that week were 606,000 on C4 with another 60,000 on +1. Ouch.
I saw the first episode of "You Have Been Watching" got bored, and stopped watching, no where near as good as Screenwipe, as usual, the presenter got a better show on the BBC.

I'd be therefore shocked, as a result, if the peak was as low as 5.5 million. I'll also be surprised if the average is 4 million.
If we do get a peak tomorrow, I should note that it will be a 15-minute peak which will therefore be lower than the 5-minute peak by I'd say a few hundred thousand.
I'd be interested to know how Prison Break performs tonight. I can't remember a programme on Sky 3 being plugged so extensively (literally every other ad break on Sky News) aside from the annual free weekend pass.

Almost certainly. Britain's Got Talent live shows are in HD this year and X Factor uses the same studio.

And what a mess they have made there. Bring in another guy to present the football despite having a perfectly capable host in Steve Rider. I appreciate they have the World Cup coming up but they could just have told Steve they would alternate between him and Adrian rather than teling him hes not needed and tearing up his contract.

Its hardly a yawnfest, I find it very amusing. The format isnt that bad, there are things that dont go so well but overall its a decent 45 minute show.
A good night for Ashes to Ashes, but average all around otherwise. The soaps will surely see another first-of-the-week bounce on Monday only to lose the viewers as the week goes on. The FA Cup will suffer again from being on ITV, which is unfortunate.
Not sure if this has mentioned but it appeared that Five have dropped JLC: Good Times in favour of a documentary on David Cameron and Nick Clegg on Monday and the following Monday is the film Mike Bassett: England Manager. It was doing poorly so it doesn't surprise me.

Not that big a mess really. Rider's contract was up in October anyway. So he leaves 5 months early and Smith covers for several weeks in the interim until Chiles starts. I dont think the average viewer will notice too much.

Right decision, but why has it taken FIVE so long to pull it??
Impressive turnaround on another current documentary for FIVE-they're building up a good reputation for quick turnaround documantaries on current affairs.

That's something else...another one of JLC's doomed to fail projects for FIVE. Having Justin's name in the title really doesn't help the show. It would do much better without it.
It would seem this week Good Times is on at 11pm on Monday.

The programme is called "David Cameron & Nick Clegg: Where Did It All Go Right?". That's a bit presumptive. Unless the programme is actuallly called "Where Did It All Go Right-wing?"

Strange night, in all honesty. Britain's Got Talent substantially down compared to last week. Doctor Who did well, but the breakdown makes for very interesting reading - from 18:30 to 19:00, it 'only' had 5.7 million compared to 4.8 million for You've Been Framed - which I find slightly surprising.
The FA Cup final disappointed. It's share is not great, and its probably one of the lowest ever. The actual audience is OK, but shares are low. The match average was 5.6 million.
The F1 did well, the actual session averaged 2.7 million - it was the 1/2 hour post-qualifying roundup that dented it.

Looks like there were fewer people watching TV yesterday, which dented the likes of Over The Rainbow and Britain's Got Talent. OTR's share was even higher than last week's, and BGT's only marginally down (by 0.3%). The next two weeks might be tricky for BGT, what with the Sunday show which will rate unpredictably and the following week going up against Eurovision which traditionally dents it. So far, the auditions are down 7% year-on-year.
