Good morning

Oxford transmitter is on very low power - particularly ITV - so Emmerdale is lost - so my 9200 is no good.

OK - lets set it on the Foxsat instead - but the problem deepens.

When I try to set Emmerdale - and only Emmerdale - it tells me there is a clash and recommends ITV2 at 3ish in the morning - but I haven't got anything else set.

I've tried a Default Reset - no programs set - I go to set Emmerdale and I get the same problem.

It could be a plot by the Anti Emmerdale Alliance - but it's probably something else.

Any ideas - anyone else getting this?

The Emmerdale setting is for 'another' - just in case you thought I was a fan.

How very strange, tonights episode has updated on my series link in the schedule (ITV 1 Central West)
and I have checked the crid codes and they look fine. 3 suggestions. I assume you have pressed schedule and found no events.
1 Try going to the Thursday episode and set a series link on that, check if your schedule now has tonights episode as the first recording in the series.

2 Try setting a new series setting using 977 London ITV

If 1 and 2 don't work, press schedule, scroll to the blanlk entry end of the list, press OK and enter a manual recording reservation using a bit of padding.

I had a strange occurrence with my Foxsat and ITV1 last night - which may or may not be related to this post.

I previously set a series linked recording for ITV1 'Childrens Hospital' airing last night at 7:30-8:00 - it didn't record anything

It was still showing on the schedule, so I decided to delete it - which it then asked me to confirm that I wanted to delete the entire series - to which I confirmed.

I then went to the TV guide for next weeks showing and, guess what, it is still showing there as a series linked recording?!

The CRID data may have changed mid series. So the item you deleted had a Series CRID number allocated to it and the set top box recognised it to be of a series of recording and so asked if you wanted to delete the rest of the series,(it's similar to when you delete a schedule when the series has ended, it still sees it as a series). However the remaining schedules of the original programming has a new series CRID number so will obviously ignore it as the box believes it to be a completely different set of recording.

I have a similar problem with BBC News at One.

If I try to set up a series recording I get a message that there is a clash with 2 simultainious recordings at 12.20 on Sunday. I have no such recordings set. Checking the series CRIDs they are the same.

As a workaround I have set the News at One to record on a Weekday basis but I would prefer it as a series because then I get a folder towards the top of my Folder tree and it is easier to find.

Hopefully it will resolve itself after next Sunday (or sooner if someone from the BBC sees this and sorts it out as happened previously with this sort of problem).

It gets even stranger Graham. I've just tried setting a single (Emmerdale) event and it's causes no problem but if I set a series linked event from the same time it throws up a clash warning. I've just quickly checked my existing schedules and there would not be a clash for the entire weeks schedule. I'm wondering if another airing with the same crid data is causing the clash (but then your reservations would pressumably report a clash too).

This is common with BBC news programmes, it's the way they code the programmes which the hdr identifies each region as a different programme so the hdr finds multiple clashes.

Now I've just noticed 'Only Connect' (BBC4 8:30 monday) series resevation has been moved for no apparent reason to 2:00. Deleted this tried to re-apply the earlier slot comes up with clash, yet there is no clash

As it happens I already had a clash for Emmerdale on Thusday 1st April having already got the extended Eastenders and Museum Of Life reserved. The box gave no warning though examining the epg showed no recording flag on the epg for Thursday for Emmerdale. May be it would have come up after recording tonights episode. After noticing this I have set all Thusdays ITV 1 recordings on Freeview. Cancelled all ITV series recordings, set a one off for tonight as I was going to put them all on 119 on Friday. Off to check if I can now reinstate the emmerdal series, watch this space

As you might expect the box reports a clash (genuine in my case) and suggests an alternative slot for the Emmerdale recording.

Not too sure what happens when a clash what should happen when a programme change as on Thursday introduces a clash. Would I have been warned about the missing Emmerdale recording reservation on Thursday ?

It appears that 'QI' have a highlights show on the monday, currently sat in the epg for this fridays airing. Why? it's not the end of the current run yet. Anyway it looks like the box has spotted this and 'The Gadget Show' so that explains the clash. The strange thing is the box failed to warn me that it was these two items causing it the first time I looked into it. After a bit of jigging about the box is now reporting the reasons as above.

This has happened to me in the past & the PVR recorded the late night repeat episode. Unfortunately, I can't remember if this was Foxsat HDR or 9200 PVR.

Yes I know that Graham - I think you explained it last time I had this type of problem - but I have nothing scheduled for the time stated nor any other BBC News programs scheduled.

It's been working fine for months but when I went away last instead of turning the machine off I decided to leave it to come on and off automatically, as it does every day, but not to record the News so I deleted it from the schedule. When I returned I tried to set up the serial link again and got the problem I refered to in my original post.

Something odd I think especially as it is working fine on an every weekday setting.
