Yes I agree with the emotional abuse to Amira, however Zainab was the person who really forced Syed to go through with the wedding even though he tried to postpone it. Although, Syed should of broken up with Amira before the wedding but it was only then Syed realised that he loved Christian.

However, the fact this party goes ahead after Christian and Syed discuss their options suggests that Amira announces she is pregnant on Tuesday or more likely Thursday after Chryed decide to get together again for maximum impact! The point it that I think that EE are going for a full dramatic and very public reveal on a Friday evening. This is when Qadim is furious at the public shaming of his daughter and so harms Christian. If Amira is believed to be pregnant then it is possible that Qadim will want her to stay married and so that is why he doesn’t beat up Syed...then on Monday Amira realises she is not pregnant and so there is no reason to stay and leaves, the Monday also gives her time to find out more about this after talking with Syed and to discover that Zainab and Masood already knew. This will add to her humiliation and she may feel ashamed of what has been done to Christian...I think it also makes more sense for the reveal to Amira and Amira’s departure to be on different days and so ties in with Preeya’s tweets. I would say a minimum of one episode post-reveal is needed before Amira leaves. I also think it is possible that Christian’s beating may happen after the reveal even after Amira has left.

Can I pose this question to you and everyone else then
If Zainab had never found out about Syed being gay, would Syed have postponed the wedding on his own?
I genuinely believe that Syed would have still married Amira. His suggestion of postponing only came after Zainab knew and he felt a brief sense of freedom, no matter how short lived it was.

I have mixed feelings about all this and I think I won't know until I see it all. I can see the humour easily although it is that nudge nudge wink wink (I said wink!) kind of carry on humour but at the root of it is a serious heartbreaking issue. But then humour can be used to get all sorts of issues across.
It depends how they do it. Zainab can be hilarious, we love her for it and this scene with Mo will be funny...so long as it doesn't make light of the fact that there are two people caught up in a horribly distressing situation. So long as that comes across in other scenes, so it is ultimately understood how unhappy they both are.
I can see what you mean diamond that in her ignorance Zainab thinks this well help and hopefully that will come across as ignorance. And it is putting extra emotional pressure on both Syed and Amira to succeed in the bedroom. It makes me cringe to think she is discussing Syed and Amira' sex life with Mo (if she actually does) or any outsider or even knowing so much about it herself. It's humiliating all round.

But starfish I really saw your point highlighted above and it's also part of the reason we haven't had enough 'just talking and being ordinary scenes.' they don't think we have the concentration levels to cope do they? without some unnecessary drama or funny bit thrown in!
