I like Amira ... Just I think she can do a lot better than being in an unhappy marriage... I dont think the majority of us have a problem with Amira, we just feel sorry for her!

16th S/C cant keep away from each other, Mas stumbles upon C/S's fumbling/finds chryed in bed/spies them together/catch in act after more mischief from Lucy, not A, Syed is wracked with guilt. Mas knows, fireworks between M/Z

BIB1: I will openly admit the same thing, and i think it's a shame she never got properly fleshed out as a character. I would have liked to see the whole aftermath, how her and Syed where with each other after, maybe finally come to some sort of reconcilliation. Unfortunately not to be.

BIB2: Preeya has been added to my list, I actually gasped at her on NYD she looked so beautiful.

I like Amira. For the purposes of the story, and indeed Syed himself, the character had to have a certain level of naivety and obliviousness about her. I feel for her.

She really did, and that hair! I would kill for hair like that!

I swear i'm not trying to make enemies but however angry I would be if Amira got pregnant could you imagine how beautiful hers and syed's babies would be?!

I know this is a bit harsh but have you seen how much make up she wears. I saw a photo of her without and was a bit shocked at how different she looks!

I think Aaron's issues are as complex but for totally different reasons. He too (wrongly in my opinion) has the fear of what his family and the village/community will say when he comes out. He too fears that he will be shunned and excluded. Obviously this isnt down to his faith but I think the fear is still the same.

I agree. Inititally I was a Syed girl but the more the story has gone on I have started to fall in love with Christian. I would say that now I like them both on par and even more so when they are together.

Syed in the hands of a lesser actor would have sunk by now. EE have a jewel in Marc and they really should do better...I live in hope!

Great post surreal - this is the problem.

Syed makes his decisions and acts as he does for good reasons. His actions aren't easy or 'right', but that's as it should be in order to demonstrate his position as a conflicted gay Musilim - who feels obliged to live a lie. Syed's story is partly but importantly about how this is impossible without hurt and damage to everyone involved - including himself.

But we haven't had ENOUGH from him - demonstrating his suffering and fear and self abnegation. We have had a bit and Marc brilliantly portrays this, but it is not enough.

The sympathy for Aaron in ED was immense, despite his violence. Syed's inner turmoil should be made more explicit in dialogue - I'm hoping we will see more soon.

And whoever mentioned a big conversation with Mas - I agree, this would work well.
