Shame. I bet the colleagues he slagged off aren't very happy about that.
The BBC obviously over-estimate his value to the show. |

I don't think it's fair that he gets to keep his job, unless it was INDEED a set up.
If it wasn't, though, it just shows that not only does he get paid outrageously but he's treated like royalty around there as well. But it says he has apologised, and pretty much admitted his faults and stuff, but ****ing hell what a thing to do... I hope his wife divorces him and takes him to the cleaners... |

Obviously not a setup or he wouldnt have issued a grovelling apology  |

Hes only kept his job because sacking him would create the biggest pigs ear of a story line since, well, the birth of soap. I mean, to bring Den back only to have him suddenly vanish again would be rediculously stupid. I'm sure BBC won't renew his contract once it comes up, esspecially with Sharon leaving.

Grantham never could act |

Am I the only one who found it completely, riotously funny?
Kim Medcalf, a block of wood - spot on. You can also believe that Wendy Richard can be a sanctimonious so and so also. No-one finds Jessie Wallce the least bit attractive and yes, Shane Ritchie is a big-head. Leslie Grantham is being castigated for ACTUALLY telling the truth!! Do you honestly believe that the actors got where they are by being all sweetness and light? At least he is honest about it all. |

Its his business what he does - We're not talking about child porn here. If he's daft enough to want to wave his chopper at a webcam and not realise its going to be all over the tabloids before you can say "Gotcha!" then leave the daft bugger be. He's still the only reason worth watching EE at the moment and if they lost him now they'd be totally knackered. |

They've all got access to the web using licence payers money! How do we know what they all look at, and does it matter as long as its not illegal? He can do what he likes, and if he gets caught its his problem. Ive got a much bigger problem with licence payers money being used on crap bbc programs like Fame Academy and anything with Patrick Kielty or Anne Robinson in.

I find it funny that the tabloids are making a point that he wasted licence payers money on web connection from a BBC telephone socket. A few pennies surely. |

Well at least some people want to watch the 'crap bbc prog.s' i can't imagine anyone wanted to see THAT!
i have to say i don't find it particularly funny . I think that it would be a good thing to discourage people from doing things like this by making an example of people who get caught, someday it may be your problem when someone decides to use the net in this way and it affects your family, a crack down now might stop more serious issues in the future. |

Hmm, I see what you're saying, but thats a bigger debate - The net just cant be policed in that way, its too big. Im only talking about the furore thats erupted over this whole Grantham thing in the tabloids - I think it stinks, frankly. I saw another 'revelation' in The Sun today: A 41 year old woman told how she'd had internet contact with him, and that he was a "dirty old man" who did "disgusting things". The article finished saying that she cut off contact with him after six months.
SIX MONTHS??! Can't have disgusted her too much then can it? And what was she doing on sites like that? Couldn't be that she's just as randy as he is and now she's seen a chance to make a bob or two, can it? |

You can bet at least some of the journos who drone on so sanctimoniously about LG being a vile sex pervert have done exactly the same stuff as him, or worse. I find his attempts at internet sex slightly comical and rather distasteful, but what I find far more offensive is his attempts at acting in EE nowadays -- a completely cynical performance which we can now read as "I'm bored with this, when can I get back to the computer" . Wish they'd used the excuse to get shot of him.

Please tell me this thread isn't going to degenerate into "Omgz ban the internets it corrupts my kids and is full of peados!!!1111".
I'd much rather peoples time was invested in campaigning for the newspapers that paid and printed this crap in the first place. |

Surely, this kind of 'internet sex' is just a progression from the 'phone sex lines that have been around for years. Thousands of men (and maybe women) have likely used such lines & not been branded perverts, yet change the media to a webcam & the whole country is up in arms!
If you try to ban consenting adults from engaging in a perfectly, albeit disgusting to your mind, practice, theres no telling what kind of precedent it sets for things that other people find offensive. Where will it stop?? I'm not saying I agree with it, but so long as both parties know what they're doing - live and let live, thats what I say!

Here's a great moment of hypocracy. On the same day that the Sun castigate Grantham for the web porn they also have a create your own page three stunna kit. And how can the Star have any input on the debate when they advertise Phone Sex lines. Conflict of interest anyone?

Wish they'd used the excuse to get shot of him. I've been cringing for the last few weeks when he's on screen. The worst was his 'story' about the good old days he told at Mark's funeral, how Angie made him go out in the square and play footie with the kids. I don't know who lost the will to live first, him or me. I was looking forward to his return, just proves something's are best in the past. |
