How to organise iTouch or iPhone?
Hey Everyone,
I am a bit of a neat freak, I like things to be tidy and in their place. On my computer everything has its folder and it is completely organised. The problem is that I have an iPod Touch and an iPhone - each with a fair few apps on them but the pages of apps just looks untidy and disorganised. I really want to know if there is an app out there that will enable me to organise and tidy up my apps. I have heard of Categories and that does sound like a perfect solution but I have not and am not (anytime soon) going to jailbrake my phone so I am unable to get this app. Is there anything out there that will help tidy my iPhone - it is really bugging me. |

Short answer, no.
Long answer, how many of the Apps do you use? I have 30 or so on my computer but only use 6 on my iPhone on a regular basis. The 1st screen on my iPhone has everything I would use daily. The 2nd screen has all of my Apps, at this moment in time I have 6. The 3rd Screen has all of the pre-installed Apps that I never use, weather, stock market etc. Thats how I do it. |

I try to organize by screen - one screen has the built in apps, another has utility type apps, another has games and so on. Of course, if you have many, many apps this can be cumbersome too, but it's the closest to categories you'll get.

This is what I have done too zapod but it still seems disorganised I do have a lot of apps maybe this is the reason for the clutter. Is there a reason why folders couldn't be implemented to the iPhone?
Thanks for both of your help much appreciate. |

yeah I am beginning to think it is the only way - it's a shame really I don't want to jailbrake my phone since it will ruin the warranty
I'll have a search (unless someone posts)jailbraking is easy and you can tweak allsort's = 5 icons allong the bottom and make the icons smaller and fit more on |

Like zapod I organise my pages by types of app; in my case I push games off towards the end, and keep the first few pages for apps other than games:
1. core apps (either built-in or better replacements of them, all useable offline) 2. offline news type apps which cache online content for later reading 3. utility/info apps which don't need net access 4. apps which require an active wifi connection 5-9. games grouped by genre 10. assorted apps pending deletion but I want to hang on to 11. stuff I rarely use but which needs to be there for some reason (*cough*cydia*cough*) |
