Erm no idea why he started flopping...his songs after these weren't very good though. Like someone said he is so early 2000 when UK garage was at a high.”

The 7 Days Sunship remix was the BOMB back then. I remember choosing that song for an early music lesson and had to describe the tempo, rhythm and style etc. I knew the song very well so it was quite easy. Good times.

i saw him at wembley arena very early on (maybe just after fill me in came out?) , and most of the material was unfamiliar to the audience. they all stood up for fill me in, and re-wind, but that was about it. he actually came across as a very middle-aged artist, playing/singing funky stuff that would have gone down well to a 40-50 year old audience.

if you look at the charts from ten years ago, almost none of he artists are still going now bar a very select few, so its no disgrace to have had ephemeral popularity wane away.

re-wind was brilliant when it came out (it bored me to tears a few months later,.. and from then on,.. but it was outstanding at first).

craig david's recent song 'insomnia' is actually really strong, and i have played it out in clubs recently. i don't know if the single 7" version did much damage in the charts, but its basically very strong, and i'm pretty happy to have played it. its the haji and emanuel mix that i like

the bo selecta tv show will probably have had little effect on his career - if he was brilliant he would have stayed hugely popular, if he wasn't he would have waned away.

if you look at x-factor, the 18-24 acts do much, much, much better than the 25 and overs acts. there is a huge preference out there for artists to be in that age bracket, and after ten years, he's not young/fresh anymore.

"We'll make it right"?

I think the lyrics were; "We were making love on wednesday and on thursday and friday..." etc...

I see he's taking the Seal route now and doing an album of covers. The guy is talented but I'd say this will flop as no one seems interested.”

Damn...I literally just started an almost identical thread over on showbiz just now. I think a fair few people believe it was down to Bo Selecta.

This has nothing to do with male impotence, right?

Can't believe his latest song peaked #76 on the charts, it's just stupid
No way it deserves to be that low in the charts

I don't understand why Rewind is credited to Craig David- yes, he did sing on it, but the track was by the garage act Artful Dodger (who were at the time a duo of Pete Deveraux and Mark Hill- after the Mel Blatt collaboration TwentyFourSeven in 2001, it just became Hill after Deveraux quit before the release of TwentyFourSeven). Artful Dodger, unlike Craig, have never had a No.1 single- Cliff Richard's 'Millennium Prayer' kept Rewind off the top in 1999 and All Saints's 'Pure Shores' stopped their collaboration with Romina Johnson 'Movin Too Fast' reaching the top a year later.
