The jump the shark website is now gone and has been replaced by a website called "Boned the fish" which in addition to celebs and TV shows, also has a section on music.

http://www.bonethefish.com/musicgroups/

Basically means, at what point did a particular band / artist become not as popular / lost their way etc..

Theres a similar thread at the moment discussing Craig David but anyone can be mentioned in here.

I really like Mel B but she went too far into rap and r and b where as the others stuck to rock and pop.

Eminem - last album was terrible, no one really seems interested anymore

Arctic Monkeys - taking themselves way too seriously now and the musics suffered for it.

Linkin Park - The albums Hybrid Theory and Meteora were exciting but Minutes to midnight was a borefest

Dizzee Rascal - kind of dumbed down his music and lyrics for the T4 On the Beach generation

The Streets - Seems like he's ran out of ideas now

Kings Of Leon - their music isn't half as good as it was pre sex on fire.

Hot Chip - new album is boring, havent really been able to recreate the consistent magic that was "The Warning"

Muse - last album was disapointing

For the record I'm still a fan of these bands/artists, hopefully they can deliver some better albums in the future

It had a few good tracks and atleast they have the original lineup and are still experimenting.

I would put in a shout for GnR. It should have been left after The Spaghetti Incident and each gone their seperate ways.

I think Axl would have got a decent following if he just changed the name of the band to keep the GnR high in rock history.

I'd have to agree with you there.

Can't say I'll be using "boned the fish" as an alternative to "jump the shark", should the situation call for it.

This. So much. Humbug was such a disappointment.

REM - i'm still not sure whether it was green or automatic for the people (green for stand and hairshirt or automatic for shiny happy people and sidewinder)

I thought Humbug was thier best album since Whatever People Say I Am I'm Mot! I know it was different but I liked that about it, plus lyrically Alex Turner is still a genius.
