What about Chris as Bruce's successor as host of Strictly.

He is an experienced live presenter, funny, intelligent and can handle the judges. Plus he knows how to dance

Chris and Karen Hardy would make a good team if Claudia wont do it

Chris Hollins is smarmy and smug and should stick to his day job.

Ummm... his day job is presenting and his night one is dancing

Funny how that is presenting

I don't think it's a bad idea (I'd take almost anyone other than Bruce, Anton, Vernon Kay or Jonathan Ross!!!) , although I'd much prefer Karen as a judge than presenter - Tess' replacement should be Claudia.

Actually, I quite like this idea.

It's better than most of the suggestions bandied around for Bruce's successor.

I think he'd be a better fit for the Tess role - I don't know that he's a big enough name or experienced enough to carry prime-time Saturday night out front, but I do think he's good in interviews. There's nothing to say it has to be one man-one woman after all - although maybe with Winkleperson being given Film20** and Let's Drag Up for Comic Relief she could be elevated to Main Presenter with a fresh face taking It Takes Two.

Is Bruce leaving then?

I want Claudia and Chris. Maybe then some of the "jokes" would actually be funny.

I don't think he is right for the job, but it is along the right lines... I'd hate to see someone like Vernon () do it. It needs to be someone with a much gentler style and sense of humour.

I'm still rooting for Aled Jones.

I wouldn't want him to take over, no.

I'd like someone with a bit of variety experience and is older than Tes- Paul O'Grady, Julian Clary, and this might sound odd but he is a theatrical Leg-end- Dame Lionel Blair?

His day job is sports presenter not presenter of a tv reality/variety show.
He doesnt have the right experience for it.

The BBC may have been lining up Anton to take over but he looks doubtful after the way he was continually having foot in mouth moments during the last series.

Anton has far less presenting experience than Chris, so he was hardly a good candidate in the first place - the presenter doesn't need to have dancing experience as long as they know how to address an audience and not make stupid jokes....

I think Andy Murray probably would be the best call if he was available but if not (due to tennis commitments) then I would probably plump for Piers Morgan or maybe Paul O Grady

Please God no to Murray or Morgan!

Murray has about as much charisma as a cabbage patch doll and Morgan is one of Count Cowell's Cronies.

Andy has a great dry sense of humour.Has proved himself at the highest level.(Was as high as number 2 at one point)

He also has great footwork knowledge that would be great for when he would have to keep the judges in order

Do you mean Murray to be the host of Strictly? Cos this is what the thread is about...

I think Chris Hollins is one of the better suggestions, I like the idea of Aled Jones too.

Actually I'd like anyone but Brucie.

And where has Andy Murray managed to get any presenting experience whatsoever? Every interview with him I've ever watched has left me squirming at its awkwardness.

Piers at least has some presenting experience and half a sense of humour - I'd rather have him than Bruce. And Paul O'Grady makes me laugh

Andy actually has done a lot of presenting to his fans on his web page and if you have ever bothered to look rather than criticise him without looking at his web page you may realise this

I think with that experience and also the fact that he would appeal to the younger audience makes him an ideal candidate

Just my opinion mind
