I'm not a fan so I don't see why I should be expected to look at his webpage before levelling criticism - I'm basing my comments on what I have seen him do.

I think perhaps he's too marginalised in a particular genre (tennis) within another genre (sport) to have any real mainstream appeal without prior general television presenting experience such as Paul O'Grady and Piers Morgan have, and Chris Hollins does through his work on Breakfast - he may be the sports reporter but he doesn't work on a sports-specific show and contributes to the general sofa discussion around his slot.

Well if they were to give Andy Murray a break and let him present this years SCD I sure he would be a great success

Would anyone agree that maybe the BBC should let Andy Murray present IT2 for a year as a sort of apprenticeship before getting the main show.

Maybe on a rota basis with Claudia

Fine...glad to see the back of the Winter.....Feels like Spring on Anglesey today.I can actually feel the warmth of the sun`s rays for the first time this year.....It`s been warm enough for a few hardy souls to go Kayaking and a few others have been brave enough to go for a blast on their jet ski`s.

I wont be wishing my summer away but no doubt I`ll be popping into the forum from time to time to see who the rumour mill suggests will be taking to the Dance floor come the Autumn.
Keep up the good work..lol

Oh no, I know Bhoy's posting style, I just don't appreciate being told not to level criticism at someone just because I happen to have never visited their website

I would never tell you what to say or do.This is a free forum and you are entitle to give an opinion just like everyone else on here.

All I was doing was suggesting it would be an idea to visit his website to see how good a presenter he is

If you did this I'm sure you too like me will think he would make a great a SCD presenter

Lol....Great Tennis player...but just a little dour.....and for some reason I have a sneaky feeling that presenting SCD wont be one of Andy`s goals for this year....I can`t think why not of course......Maybe his ambition and drive will be focused more on winning a Grand Slam event this summer than on securing a place in history and landing the job of SCD anchorman....Just my humble opinion of course.

unless we believe all the tabloid rumours that he's completely fallen out of love with tennis of course

Really.....don`t read the rags so I`v no idea what rumours are doing the rounds.....Is Princess Cheryl still married to that evil womanizing footballer?.
As for Andy Murray and SCD....Contestant; yes.....presenter; a definite no....sorry Bhoy1888.

As far as I know she hasn't kicked him out for good yet, she should though, but that wouldn't make half as good a story!

And yes, I agree - Andy Murray could definitely be a contestant

I think he would be better as a presenter

I don't know when this thread suddenly turned into 'suggest someone who would be a patently ridiculous choice for presenter', but I'll play along... what about Katie Price?!

If I could pick my two ideals, I would have-

Christine Bleakley- As the interviewer/ Tess Daly Role (she had a similar job on a Talent show with Brian Conley or someone a few years ago)

Paul O'Grady- In Brucie's shoes. He's a big fan of the show and would suit the ambience of the competition down to the ground.

I could see Paul O'Grady working definitely. I hope not Christine Bleakley though, I don't think she'd be all that much better than Tess!

Kate Thornton could easily replace Tess, she has been so good on all three tours.

Ah I didn't think of Kate- that would be a well deserved poke in the eye for Mr Cowell too.

I was going down the ex-contestants route as a host (what with Brooke taking over in America).

What about Kelly Brook or Kate Garraway (if her getting axed from GMTV turns out to be true).

Paul O'Grady and Kate Garraway would actually be a nice couple.

I agree about Kate, she was fab on the tour !

I also agree Mr O' grady would be brilliant BUT I still have my heart set on Aled Jones !!!!!!!!!

I would like someone who would be natural and not (hopefully) be at risk of putting his big foot in it. So Aled would be ideal - he wouldn't demand the limelight, just be a great presenter and at the same time keep order among the judges and retain humour. And with experience of havind been a contestant too. Having said that, keep going Brucie! And please bring back Arlene.

Never seen Aled truly at ease. He has a tense smile like a skellington. Can hear it on his radio show too.

So you reckon out of the big candidates Andy Murray,Piers Morgan and Paul O'Grady you reckon Paul would be the best choice?

I would have Andy just slightly ahead of Paul with Piers a bit back in 3rd

As for a replacement for Tess if she ever left I have heard that its likely to be either Kirsty Gallagher,Jenny McAlpine or Fearne Cotton

I think Jenny would be a good shout as would Kirsty but not too sure if I want Fearne Cotton

Jenny McApline is ITV through and through so would never do it, and Kirsty is more contestant material, as is Andy as he just hasn't got the credentials to to host a live, primetime show.

Hmmmm I like Chris but I'm not sure he'd fit.

If they were going for an ex contestant to replace Brucie then, personally, I would prefer to see Gethin to Chris, think he would be fab! Love to see Claudia given a more prominent role too!

Tess Daly was ITV with SMTV but was enticed over to the BBC.

I heard that Jennie is in line to replace Johnathon Ross as a new chat show host at the BBC with a new exclusive contract to the BBC like Jonathon had but at 25% of the rate
