Where do you get your info?

A corrie actor is chaned to ITV- and Jenny's not leaving.

I was going down the ex-contestants route as a host (what with Brooke taking over in America).

What about Kelly Brook or Kate Garraway (if her getting axed from GMTV turns out to be true).

Paul O'Grady and Kate Garraway would actually be a nice couple.”

I would say no to Kelly Brook- too many people find her extremely annoying. And no also to Kate Garraway- I think if it's an ex-contestant it should be one who has a bit more credibility than Kate!

Kate Thornton and Paul O'Grady would be a pretty good team I think.

Yes to Kate Thorton for definite, then we can keep Claudia on ITT!

And I could see Paul O'Grady working, but I also like the idea of Gethin doing it - he's the best choice out of all the past contestants I think, with Chris 2nd

Kelly Brook is far too annoying, Kate Garraway not as bad but there are better choices.

Gethin isn't a bad choice, although I'm not a big fan of his. I don't know if the Beeb would give him a huge presenting job though, has he got enough experience to justify it?

They could use his years on Blue Peter to justify it, it's a long commitment and a decent test of presenting style to be able to interview adults without demeaning them whilst pitching the subject matter to youngsters' level.

Plus hasn't he done some reporting for the BBC since? I can't remember what exactly, but I'm sure I've seen him presenting before - CIN or Comic Relief reports possibly?

I don't mind Tess too much but i'd like Bruce replaced with somebody funny, as the bloke who presents DWTS is funny but not cringeworthy imo.

Possibly, I'm just thinking that's quite a big leap to doing prime-time Saturday evening.

Are you suggesting that Andy Murray is to give up playing tennis for a year to present Blue Peter just to prove he could cope with a Live studio audience

I think him and Jennie McAlpine could maybe do a one off pilot or something to see if they have the correct chemistry but don't think a whole year presenting Blue Peter is pratical

Ok I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt here but along with Vernon Kay - Morgan is one of the few people who actually annoys me more than Brucie.

I've heard worse ideas than Hollis doing it - but I agree he'd be better in the Tess role. Why not ditch Brucie get Tess out in front and have someone like him or Gethin backstage in Tess's role or get Claud in and get them to host ITT.

Please yes, Aled! I wouldn't mind if they had a whole panel of Alesha's judging the show if Aled was presenting.

As much as I like Chris Hollins, I don't think he should replace Bruce.

My top choice would be Paul O'Grady, with either Claudia Winkleman or Chris Hollins backstage.

Aled great but please not a whole panel of Alesha's I really wouldnt want to see that!

PS I think Gethin is about to do prime time show on ITV ! I have obviiolusly missed something though where did Andy Murray come from?

He didn't, it's one person's idea, not fact or even rumour....

And if Gethin's about to do prime-time ITV that could rule him out for this year (depending on what it is) but might be promising for the future

I think he would still be available later on in the year!

Andy Murray what a strange idea then, certainly couldnt see him in shame or form being part of SCD -yet wait until he retires from tennis!

I think for this year we will have to make do with him sharing presenting duties with Claudia on ITT

Next year will be the year he may get Brucie's job

Chris has presented other stuff besides BBC Breakfast (Cash In the Attic or something like that?) BUT..what he'd need is to take elements from his experience presenting live and combine that with relating both to the TV AND the studio audience..and to the contestants and judges. I think he'd be fine if he took the current Tess role and let Tess be the mainstay (she did well at it when Bruce was ill one week, IMO).

It depends on what they are looking for. Paul O'Grady and Claudia would be a carbon copy of what we have now....ex Gen Game/Mr Saturday Night presents, girlie with some TV experience in the back.

Why not Female front and centre, male doing the interviews?

Anglea Rippon, Kate Thornton, Jane McDonald, Amanda Byrom, Natasha Kap, Zoe Ball????

with

Chris, Gethin, Ben Shep, Richard TV Guy off of GMTV, Julian Clary back stage?????

I think if the presentation was slick, and the humour kept behind stage (ie reverse of what they try to do now) it could feel like a better show.

In the US, the presenter is funny, but not a comedian. No puns, not catchphrases, just keeping to time, hitting all the ad breaks and cutaways.

I assumed it was a joke.

The beeb isn't going to hand one of the biggest jobs on television to the sports reporter on BBC Breakfast/ Cash in the attic relief presenter.

Ooh I like the idea of a Zoe Ball doing front of house and Julian Clary as an interviewer- would work very well, especially as both are former contestants.

I sorry but even after all these suggestions I still think if Bruce quits and Tess joins ITV as has been suggested elsewhere then Andy Murray and Jennie McAlpine would be the prefect double act to take SCD to the the the next generation

Haven't the 'next generation' got enough on their plate without having that scenario to put up with as well, Bhoy?

Thanks for the laugh though and I was glad to see the personality vacuum that is Piers Morgan get a mention too I shan't underestimate your sense of humour again

Gethin's prime time shows on ITV (Police Camera Action and 71 Degrees North) are both recorded, he hasnt signed an exclusive contract with ITV as far as we know so no reason why he couldnt do it, however I think the BBC will still be in the mindset of having a comedien/entertainer to front the show
