O2 Free Sim question - WAP allowance
wozwebs

I am using one of those free O2 sims that give you 300 free texts and 300 wap minutes when you top up £10 per month.

No I used to have a 7650 and used the free wap minutes to look at WAP sites and to check my POP3 emails. I have since purchased a P800 and was delighted to see that I could surf the 'proper' web using Opera browser. Now for the 1st few days it was all free, my balance stayed the same after surfing the forums and ebay etc.

But after a couple of days, and nowhere over my 300 minutes I started to getr charged the standard WAP charge of 10p per minute. Do you think O2 have a cap on MB's downloaded that kicks in or something. I would phone and ask them but it costs 50p per minute.

Anyone else know?

Are you surfing with dial up WAP or GPRS? I think there's something like half a meg free with GPRS.

From the booklet which comes with the sim :-

TEXT AND MEDIA MESSAGING BUNDLES

Choose the bundle which suits you best

Media Messaging enabled PAYG phones are pre-set to option 2
standard PAYG phones are pre-set to option 1

option 1, TEXT 300 MM 0
option 2, TEXT200 MM25
option 3, TEXT 100 MM50
option 4, TEXT 0 MM75

To change options :-

opt.1 Text code SMS300
opt.2 Text code MMS25
opt.3 Text code MMS50
opt.4 Text code MMS75

TO 21300

Hope this helps

You have a certain amount of MB you can download usually. WAP pages are very small so you only occasionally go over your limit. However web pages are very big, causing you to lose you allowance very quickly.

This is usually the case anyway, hope it helps.
