Hi
I have a bt home hub that is too far away from my new Humax foxsat hdr box to run an cable.
I have a spare netgear access point and a spare wireless router can I use either of them to conect the foxsat wirelessly to my broadband to pick up BBC iplayer.

regards

should be able to, as i'm hoping to do exactly the same thing!

but i need to look into it a bit more, but in theory you should be able to use your spare router as a wireless bridge type thing.

yes you can - I'm using an old 3Com access point. The alternative is to use a pair of Homeplug devices. I've done that too. No problem with either method.

Hi
Thanks for the quick response, in the short term I managed to move my BT Home hum and make a cabled connection BBC iplayer working fine.
Will I always have to use the red button or will I eventually just have the iPlayer as a chanel.
I will try using the spare access point

For a remote wireless router to work ( in effect reverse mode) , you need to make sure the wireless channel number used is the same for both routers. I've set this up to achieve the exact scenario as requested.
