Surprise surprise, Amy is on page three of the Sunday Mirror today. A huge article about her spilt with Chris Fountain:yawn: pathetic really, and not fair on the other more talented contestants. I think we now know why she was put through though..

I feel quite sorry for Amy. For me she has one of the best voices in the competition but i do have difficulty seeing her as a Dorothy and it isn't her fault she looks the way she looks.

I was watching last weeks show and couldn't stop seeing her as Elle in Legally Blonde and then AWL said exactly the same thing last night. So why was she put through? Since the start if the show it has been said by all of the judges that she doesn't look like a Dorothy and after listening to their thoughts last night i just can't understand why she is in the top 10 if they feel she is so wrong for the part.

Amy can sing in tune, but her voice isn't natural or distinct. She sings like R n B artists. She's just imitating them. There's no Amy in her voice at all.

Also, I think she does have a lot of control over her appearance. The look she has manufactured for herself is ideal for the world of glamour modeling, but totally unsuitable for the role of Dorothy.

Fair enough, she might not be Dorothy but she is VERY talented..

How does her being Chris' ex have anything to do with her being put through?

I think Amy's one of the most talented of the final 20 that's why she was put through.

Amy might be able to sing but she looks far too old to play a 12 year old (also far too well endowed)

Every year on these shows, don't they put through someone who is, whilst talented, not at all 'suitable' for the role they are going for? I remember it with Maria but tbh I didn't watch Nancy so I can't comment.

I didn't think she was a suitable choice for this show but I was still sad to see Amy depart. And she did herself proud at the end (her best vocals yet I thought).

I hope another door opens for Amy because she's clearly very gifted

He used to be on Hollyoaks and then got to the final of Dancing on Ice a couple of years ago.

And from his tweets he's not happy Amy was voted out!

BTW I thought Amy was very gracious tonight. I felt really sorry for her. Don't tell anyone but I shed a tear as she left

I don't know if they're still an item but they're obviously still on good terms. Chris has been supporting her on Twitter, so have Matt Evers and Fred Palasak.

I'm supporting Jessica and Jenny now.

Amy was a sweet girl - unsuitable for Dorothy but the panel must answer for that, they put her through.

She's clearly northern - where does she come from.

You and me both, Sid, she was so dignified in defeat, and certainly has more to offer - what a voice! I'm sure this won't be the last of her.

I very nearly cried as it was so sad, all the Dorothys seemed to be crying, if it's like this everytime somebody gets eliminated i'm gonna be a wreck!

And it takes a lot to make me cry!

I suspect it was John Partridge who pushed for Amy to get through initially. I'm glad she's had the chance to showcase herself but I can't help feeling one of the other girls was robbed of a real chance to contend for the role of Dorothy.

I think you are probably right about it being John who put her through as he did say he liked her.

I found it mean that ALW felt the need to tell both Amy and Steph they weren't right for the part
