It did sort of beg the question "Well why did you put them through then?"

I think Steph was more Dorothy-like in the sing-off though.

Apparently, my future son-in-law.

No, I'm not Amy's mother, but my daughter is a big fan and that just happens to be how she refers to him...

Hi Sid and Ignazio!

Yes - I really felt for Amy tonight. I didn't expect to like her but I really did. And what a beautiful voice she had!

I too don't know why they put her through (she obviously didn't look at all like Dorothy) only to get rid of her at the first opportunity. I wish they'd kept her a bit longer.

The sing off was one of the most beautiful I can remember.

Hopefully Amy will have lots of doors opened for her now.

Hope so Mama - Amy's a tough northern lass - as I've already mentioned we eat rusty nails for breakfast and drink irn bru (served of course by the butler) - but she will survive.

OTR was Amy's showcase, hopefully leading to a bigger and better future.

Hi Mama <smooch!> x

I wasn't her biggest fan to begin with, but Amy won me over tonight. It was too late unfortunately.

I'm sure it's not the last we've heard of her though.

I too think Amy was completely wrong for the part of Dorothy but I think she's very talented and will hopefully get other roles in the future. I think she'd be great in shows like Chicago and Cabaret and maybe Wicked and We Will Rock You. I wish her all the best.

Chicago recruits some of the best dancers around (and if you look at the cast details, from not that many courses) we don't know if Amy can dance that well. Grease is another possibility but that also is dance heavy. She couldn't do Sally but there might be something in Cabaret or Wicked or WWRY or Mama Mia?

I suspect because they didn't put 2 of younger Claire, Katie, Emelie, Emma or Phillipa through on their merits as possible Dorothies and then went for the best singers to fill the last 2 places.

If they had put those people through they would have had a problem with the voters distinguishing them on looks from Bronte, Jennie , Jessica as was, Danielle, Stephanie and Lauren. Excluding them means that there's no confusion with who i would think is in ALW's top 5.

I agree with the majority of posts in this thread. Amy has undoubted talent - but she simply was not Dorothy. I am not being rude about her at all, but her physical attributes and the age she looks would have made the show a parody.

But as so many have said before me - why was she put through in the first place? It just wasn't fair on her or the talented girls who didn't make it to the final 11.

Amy being in the final 10 was a win/win for Amy and the BBC - they both got lots of publicity out of it!

Amy isn't Dorothy, but is very talented. I'm guessing there will be a long queue of people waiting to sign her up.
