I would LOVE a multi-Doctor story, but it would have to be well-written and give something for all the Doctors to do (and plausible explanations for absences of some of the Doctors). I'm rewatching Angel and one of the episodes I just watched ("Damage") had a BtVS character stop by to "help" the team out and it was more than cringeworthy. Keeping that in mind, I would say that I would prefer any returning characters to have a good story that uses the character well and furthers their story. I feel that some of the return visits haven't fully used the returning characters to their potential, and this hurt Martha in particular for me.

But who am I kidding? I'm overly sentimental and I'd probably be glad even if an old character just popped in for a cup of tea.

As I understand it, he was at one point going to be back in Who after that but Nicholas Courtney was quite ill for awhile around that time.

I don't want to see any of the characters from the past 4 series and specials. Their time is over and done with, their stories are told and that's it.

The only characters that could possibly come back are Cap'n Jack and Sarah Jane. Donna is married and settled so I think the Doctor will leave them alone now. Rose is gone, and (please God) for good. She has her ending and bringing her back will just annoy people.

If they do explore old characters maybe they could reconnect with old companions, and I'd suggest old favourites like Romana and Tegan (unless either of them died, not sure about that).

Jenny, the Doctor's Daughter from the series 4 episode of the same name, as played by the gorgeous Georgia Moffett.

I believe it was at Steven Moffat's (no relation - different spelling) bequest that Jenny was allowed to live at the end of the episode and fly off on her own adventures, so maybe one day....

I think that if the Moff, and only the Moff, can pull a good story out of his hat, she should come back at least once to tie that up. I don't like how she was just left to fly around the universe.

Rose... definately not. Her story is more than told now. Although if she did return... odds are she'd have the Doctorlet with her. DT could return too...

Aside from seeing the Master again (as he's always been a recurring villain) I want new characters, not lots of old ones coming back. I certainly don't want to see ANY of the companions from the last 4 series. Not that I dislike any of them, but I got sick of the "they've left, of no look they've come back, no they've gone for good, oh look they're back again" flitting around that occured with some of them (particularly Rose, who really was overused, like she was the best companion the Doctor had ever had and non of his others compared to her wonderfullness)

I like Mat and Karen and I want to see them going forward, having new adventures and meeting new and exciting people. Perhaps in a few years, a reappearence from an old face might be welcome. But not now.

In fact, I had a dream last night that Rose came back and was sidelined by Matt's Doctor, because he preferred Amy. Rose didn't hang around for long after that. I might accept that as a story, but only because it would put a cap on the character of Rose once and for all.

I'd like them to bring back.....

The Ood are the best new alien in the series revival, would like them to come back.

Tom Baker is still a possibility, nothing a bit of hair dye and make up couldn't fix. The Brigadier or perhaps a descendant of his. Then of course Peri with her (o)(o) . I would love to see Ace come back. She was my all time fave. And of course Wilf, who is probably the only likeable character to come from the last 5 years.

Tom Baker is in his late 70s, i'd like him to do a multi-dr episode too but his age would probably be restrictive.

He was that character with the laptop in last night's episode. Many people on here seem to have been quite impressed by the fella's acting abilities

(Can't quite see the appeal myself. Still, there's no accounting for taste!)

I don't really have much desire for other old characters to return. I wouldn't mind seeing another minor character return (characters that have only appeared in 1 episode), but I am looking forward to River Song returning

I've had some dreams about Rose, but I don't think they'd be acceptable as stories pre-watershed

Maybe the meta-crisis doctor finally realized what a dullard rose is, get his own tardis grown super-fast and manages to scarper across dimensions. There could be a running gag where this human doctor tries to approach doc 11 and is always stopped in his tracks i.e door opening smacking him out or falling down a man-hole. When they do finally meet 11 will give him a wedgie and put his head down a cosmic toilet somewhere saying "WHO DA MAN?! WHO DA MAN!!!!!"
