I was visiting an aged aunt a few years ago and was standing in the sunshine admiring the garden of the flats where she lived when a very spritly old gentleman came up to me and said "Good morning, lovely day" and it was Sir Norm. who had come to visit the flats as he was thinking of buying one.
I'm sure he is a lovely bloke, but I can't stand the man as a performer - but, I'll watch through gritted teeth, and hope I'm proved wrong and he's wonderful.

Got to agree, he's using the same act now as he did in the old films when he was a lot younger, and it just grates on my nerves now!
I have to say I never found him funny. But hopefully he won't be playing the same character in Corrie, or burst into a chorus of "Don't Laugh at Me Because I'm a Fool" in the Rovers.
