Good morning.
MY 710 about 5 years old now?, as started to lock up again after being good for several months

This time, when I go through all the procedure, switch it off overnight etc, it comes in showing av 1, when I go through all the rest to get to the tuner, EG Av1,2,4,dvd etc fine, then when it should go into tuner it always locks up, the HDD recorded programmes play ok, but if then I switch to EPG it again locks up.

Do I now get rid, any info will be helpful, I have by the way
switched off auto updates, two years ago. The dam thing cost £500 and is the worst Sony I ever bought

Just a thought. When you do a factory reset, does the unit re-activate the automatic software upgrade function? As you know, this needs to be disabled to ensure reliable operation. My guess is the factory default setting would be on.

Don't worry about missing any software updates, there are not going to be any more.

Long time to reply sorry, no the reset does not bring back the
auto update.

I somehow think, this dam set is also prone to weather conditions, the instruction book even says it can be
effected during muggy conditions. Alls well again.
