For me it's got to be;

Merriweather Post Pavilion by Animal Collective

Leaders of the Free World by Elbow

Upstair's at Eric's by Yazoo

Penthouse and pavements by Heaven 17

Peter Gabriel (Melt) by Peter Gabriel

Viva La Vida by Coldplay

These are just some of my favourites off the top of my head, special mention also to the Pet Shop Boys who had a knack of making some great innovative album covers.

"Very" by the Pet Shop Boys is definitely a candidate.

Take That's circus album artwork is quite cool.

Britney's "circus" album and Cheryl Cole's "3 words" are very pretty and cute.

Mika's album cover's are always interesting too.

EDIT: the best has to be Paolo Nutini's "Sunny Side Up". I just love it.

One that springs to mind is;

Kate Bush - Never Forever: http://http://upload.wikimedia.org/w...er_Forever.jpg

Oh and The Cure's Disintegration is pretty good too:

http://http://diskoduck.cz/shop/imag...NTEGRATION.jpg

Both album covers suit the albums I think, sort of.

|Of the recent (ish) albums I'd plump for Enigma's "Seven Lives Many Faces".......

http://images.google.co.uk/imgres?im...26tbs%3Disch:1

A straight forward picture doesn't really do it justice. The actual CD cover is much more lush imo.

Also love Fleetwood Mac's "Rumours". A timeless image. Simple but effective.

The Gate-fold sleeves pioneered, so I have been told, by The Moody Bues were always superb. Masquerade Overture by Pedragon has all the art work done by Simon Williams and his work is always beautiful.

I love Rihanna's Rated R album cover. I think it's edgy and just brilliant. Really shows what the album results in being anyway

Florence and the machine - Lungs. Just love it. Represents the title as well.

Meat Loaf's "Bat Out Of Hell" album cover (or even parts 2 and 3 for that matter)

It is very good. But it doesn't beat Oracular Spectacular.

I mean, come on, we got Andrew with his shirt off for that

I am aware that I am being incredibly shallow though.

I always liked this one.

Relayer by YES.
I didn't own the album, but I had the poster on my bedroom wall for a while.

The artist, Roger Dean did a lot of album covers for a lot of bands at the time.

Ooh, I forgot Plastic Beach. The artwork on the back of the CD case is good too.
