Using wireless with Tiscali - a couple of questions to answer
A question for all you brainy people out there. Well, actually it is 2 questions.
I have moved my Tiscali box into another room at the other end of the house to the Tiscali supplied router. I am using a Homeplug system to send the signal to the box, which is working just perfectly. However, I want to also have a wireless signal in the same room as the Tiscali box. Q1) Is there a way of connecting a wireless router between the Homeplug and the Tiscali box, so I can get an internet connection? I tried it with an Apple Airport base station (quite an old one) and the DSL TV signal just wasn't happening (all pixelated). I have a Belkin F5D8636 modem router (quite a new one), but I don't think this will work as a mate said you cannot have 2 modems working on the same system. Q2) Is there any way of getting the Belkin to act as a router only and not a modem? I'm not hugely techie, so please keep any responses in layman's speak. Thanks in advance. K |
