Were the results show filmed last night or will it be live tonight? if it was filmed last night then there is a fake Charlotte C saying she is off to the studio for the show! I really cannot understand stupid people who pretend to be celebs

There is a poster on DS who was in the audience last night, so yes, it was recorded yesterday.

I felt guilty, as it struck me later that the invocation to keep schtum was not just about the result but generally about the illusion of Sunday being live.

And then I thought: screw you guys! Put the results show out on Saturday; don't lie to the public.

The Wizard of Oz itself is about the demystification of illusion. I don't think smoke and mirrors is a righteous way for the BBC to behave.

I won't spoil the result; but I do disapprove of misleading the public. It's a moral hazard. You do it with a show like this, and you'll do it with a current affairs programme; and a culture sets in of pulling a curtain over honest broadcasting. And before you know it, the wrong people win awards, reports on internal bias get suppressed and all sorts.

There's a moment during the results show where Andrew says "What we saw earlier....yesterday". I wondered whether they would cut it or retake it.

Sorry Graham, it may be your birthday, but I cannot tell a lie. You may think it heartless but this axe in my hand cut down the tree for which you would have the viewers not see the wood!

I totally agree with you - just as ludicrous as it was when the BBC insisted on the illusion with SCD. such a pointless exercise as there was always someone in the audience who let interested parties know what happened!

With any luck there might be DS FMs who go to watch these shows - I object strongly to being treated like an idiot by the BBC!

In their defence, if you spend too much time watching their channels isn't becoming an idiot inevitable?

Great post, FXDUX - the more I read your posts, the more I hope you really do win big at the bookies!

I empathise with your dilemma and understand your decision not to reveal the result. It's okay, I'm not trying to influence you (even if I could) because the results show is just around the corner, but why does the BBC get its collective knickers in a twist about the result being leaked here?

DS is not that huge or influential, is it? And, for fans of the show (and I presume we are fans, or we wouldn't be posting here), knowing the result won't stop us watching. Well, it hasn't before now, if only to find out why, and to see how much we disagree with the Lord (and I still haven't forgiven him for Daniel Boyes).

They sensibly moved the Strictly results show to the same night last year, so why have they reverted to this infuriating system?

I love it. Great literary allusion there. Now put your money where your mouth is and tell us who was in the bottom two. (In the spoiler thread, obviously)

At least Brucie took the pee on SCD by doing his "Youre so much better than last nights audience".
