Who is 'the chosen one?"

I thought it was Stephanie, but other people are saying Danielle.

So who? Have I got it wrong?

Yes, it's Bronte.

I set this in motion and was referring to Danielle.

Chosen is not necessarily synonymous with Winner.

You can interpret the chosen one in any way you like, it seems more like Emilie to me, Andrew made it clear his daughter voted for her - I don't think he has got that personal before but I could be mistaken

I wonder if Andrew's daughter takes after her father and looks like a squashed tangerine?

I think he looks for different things. If he can find his next Christine understudy too he will like her as well as Dorothy. If they do anything requiring the soprano's to show up there's Cosettes and Eponines to be found too. He's pretty parochial too so you would hope that some other people are sitting there noting that the ones doing songs that he hates are the ones who could do other West End roles. There's a future couple of leads for Chicago in 2020 there at least if someone finds jobs to fill the gap until then for them.

Problem is I am not sure he's that good at casting anyone elses shows or anything that needs better acting. The suggestion of Amy for Legally Blonde was absurd because he doesn't appreciate how much acting there is in Legally but Lauren for example actually looks and sounds just right for one of the leads in it.

Danielle is the one to beat because she sits on the middleground between credible young bright eyed farm girl look and strong lively performance with some edge. That doesn't make her the chosen one. There are stronger singing wholesome versions and much brasher livelier ones - its not clear which he , the public or the judges want. Its also not clear who the target audience is and whether a Jenny or a Lauren or a Danielle would sell most tickets to them.

I agree it's not clear who the public or judges will want.

But personally I have no doubt that Danielle is the one Andrew currently wants. That could change if she fails to deliver in the next couple of weeks.

It's strange but when people mention Danielle, I can never really remember who they mean.

She's kind of like Steph ... nice, average and unmemorable.

I'm kind of coming round to your way of thinking FXDUX. Certainly if I were casting the part tomorrow I'd give it to Danielle. Andrew's comment to her last night was the kind of thing he kept saying to Jessie Buckley - he obviously loves her. But he's playing it cool.

However, he's also quite taken with Bronte and Sophie. Especially Sophie.
