it could be the brain not working, but I cannot see how a clash has been reported for some programs I want to record on Tuesday. I hope someone can help.

I set up three reservations
ITV1 7.30 to 8.00 pm
ITV1 8.00 to 9.00 pm
BBC2 9.00 to 10.00 pm.

So far no problems were reported, but when I input a fourth reservation,
BBC4 10.25 to 11.00 pm
a clash warning appeared.

From the foregoing surely there is nothing that does clash. I'm confused, utterly.

ITV1 7.30 to 8.00 pm Series linked
ITV1 8.00 to 9.00 pm Single prog
BBC2 9.00 to 10.00 pm. Series linked

The timing of the BBC4 was wrong; it should be 10.05 to 11.00 and is Single prog.

Foxsat+ with 2 cables.

Strange, the crid codes look OK.

Can you try this to check you have full two cable operation.

Start an instant recording on 104 CH4, start another on 136 CBS reality. Check you can view 806 TV shop and 300 Film 4 while recording two.

Are you using any padding settings?

Check done and AOK!

I cannot see how it might have caused the situation, but the first for ITV program the HD version was selected, for the second SD.

No padding; tbh I seem to have been quite lucky and very seldom lost anything of value.

I have tried it again and this time it went in, but, believe me, not just the program I want to record, but everything from 7.00 to 11.45 pm.

When you input a series recording if there's an earlier and different episode in the epg it schedules that one first. This may have generated the clash and as the offending episode is now past the clash may have gone away.

Thanks for that explanation, but is there anything to be done about

Do you mean you set a reservation from an epg entry 10:05 to 11:00 on BBC 3 and it entered a scheduled recording from 07:00 to 11:45. Bit confused as to what happened You can't change the way series recordings are set up, if you want to start recording a series from a second episode while the first is still in the epg it will pick up the first and record that before the second.

I wanted to record what I thought, on basis of seeing there was a series link, several progs on Rogers and Hart in following weeks. I now realise that the link applied to a number of programs this evening, of which the Rogers and Hart was part
19:30 Walk On By Part of the Great American Songbook season. 2/8.

20:20 Nina Simone: A Tribute

21:05 Legends Part of the Great American Songbook season. Ella Fitzgerald

22:05 The Rodgers and Hart Story

All very confusing it is to have a series link for progs transmitted on the same day. IMO not very helpful.

I agree it can be, but normally all you have to do is look at the schedule to see that the next scheduled recording for any series is before the one you want to start with.
