In Russia the female takes the male surname and adds an a (I think that's how it works) hence Lipanov to Lipanova

but she isnt russian :S, she's from liverpool or somthing

Andrei is though. Maybe they got married in Russia. Susie is from South Shields btw.

They also have a son together.

According to the article, they met in Blackpool and now live in South Shields

But her husband is so I guess they stuck with the Russia tradition. I suppose if she called herself Susie Lipanov it would be weird to his relatives and any Russians as it's the male form of the surname.
