Had you gone to see Danielle? You were after all the founder of her thread!

Pleased for Sophie, but I would have been gutted to get an alternate.
Yeah, I was expecting it to be Danielle but was perfectly happy for it to be Sophie.

Maybe Danielle would have had a different timbre to her acting but I like Sophie's singing voice.

Good show.

Excellent show. We have had a long debate about Sophie on the Dan thread. We call it Sophiegate.

Its reported elsewhere that at WoZ Emily Glinda is also off with a sore throat and one of her understudies is claimed to have pneumonia. Elle (Susan) from Legally Blonde was also off this week with a sore throat and she was at the Oliviers last week with Danielle. There seems to be something going around. If you recall the recent ALW quote about Connie being stupid and singing with a cold and ALW saying Danielle wouldn't do that, I imagine he has to tell people keep her off with anything that looks like one.

Its still not clear what Sophie does as alternate. Some alternates do cover sickness - others just cover holiday weeks and particular shows and understudies cover sickness. Its been suggested that the understudies are not yet worked up (though I thought one had been on already?) and its possible that they are sick too - or its possible that Sophie is indeed first sickness cover too.

Has anyone waited for Sophie outside the stage door? I really want to meet her, so am going to go one tuesday in the holidays. Does anyone know what time she comes out? Main exit or side? Thanks

The 2 main stars come out of the main door. I got a picture with Danielle. No reason to think it any different with Sophie.

I know Sophie and as an alternate she covers for Danielle when she is ill and when she is on holidays (2 weeks in May, 2 weeks in September I think) as well as a show every Tuesday but apparently she is getting another show a week. Hope that helps

She's now getting two weeks in September (I think it started as one ?)
http://westendunderstudies.com/Site/By_Show.html

The role of DOROTHY will be played by Sophie Evans (Alternate) from Tuesday 6th September to Sunday 18th September 2011 as Danielle Hope will be away

She's not doing her own weekly shows on July 5 or 12.

Sophie sings OTR on this - though you have to turn your sound up to full.......

I saw 'The Wizard Of Oz' yesterday at the London Palladium. It was brilliant and Sophie was excellent! There was a slight hiccup in one of the scenes where the witch failed to come out of 'the hole' (it was quite funny actually). But other than that all went well. I am so pleased I got to see Sophie!!

She got a huge applause at the end, as did Toto and Des O'connor

This is my first post in this thread, I just wondered what Sophie will be doing now TWOO is coming to an end. She's worked with some great people all on one show (Des, Russell Grant, Michael Crawford). She's a talent.

I also wish they would release a DVD of the Palladium's TWOO. I enjoyed it so much that I could watch it again and again!
