You could see the nerves in her face just before she started singing. but if you listen to it without watching. Its near enough exact note wise apart from a couple.

but she really does shine in the group performances or do I just watch her the most lol

oh yeah and the song choice was awful.

Sophie has not shone through mostly because her songs choices have been so bad. For the last two weeks I am wondering if Sophie and Jenny have been given rotten songs that do not show off their voices well as a deliberate ploy to turn the public away from voting for them.

It could be, I thought 'love song' was an awful choice and Jenny's not being given the chance either. Most people's comments on Sophie's performance have been something to do with the song, it sucks she's not yet had a knockout song choice.

I agree with whoever said you could see her nerves before the song started, she looked scared at that moment. It's strange as in the opener and group performance she was fab.

I agree that Sophie has been given dreadful songs, Jenny should have made a lot more of Warwick Avenue though, this eight year old did:

I'm just re-watching (and re-watching and re-watching) Sophie's song from last night to try and work out what it was that got such a bad reaction. And i have come to this conclusion...
a) The song choice is rubbish, i mean, there is no two ways about it.
b) The hair is terrible. Not in general, i think she looks quite pretty with her hair up. But for this kind of song. If you want someone to shine through and be more 'jolly' you don't put there hair up in a style that is reminiscent of my mothers wedding hair.
c) The dress. Same reasoning as the hair, she looks perfectly nice in it, but its just so wrong for the song. Its like Danielle's last week, she looks like a air hostess (nothing wrong with that btw, just wrong for the song)
d) The song is not only a rubbish choice but its far far far far too low for her voice, which it why at times you can't hear her, its not her fault, its just too low in her register, it is in most peoples.

So i think they are the main reasons it got such bad reception. Its not a bad performance, its just not amazing. I think there is a moment that is rather good though....

starting at about 2:50 to about 4:03 when there is a key change, its really well sung! And hard to do without cracking.

thats what i think anyways

Oh also, i asked my friend who went to the recording yesterday who she thought was the nicest girl, like genuinely came across nice off and on camera, and she said Sophie Apparently she smiled and waved at them and was just really sweet

The more I watch it the more I love the performance I still feel like she'll be in the bottom 2 though

and I don't see nerves before she starts her song I just see her getting ready to change into character. She's getting in the zone!

The sing off was the best I've heard Sophie sing by herself! I can't believe people are actually saying Emilie was better than her

^^ I KNOW! madness, im a bit sad she got the weaker part of the song because she was really good with it, think how good she would have been with the harder parts and the belting

Sophie was sooo good in the sing-off, I felt so sad for her she looked heartbroken. I really hope this doesn't destroy her confidence and she comes back fighting.

I think it will do the opposite, i think it will be the 'kick' (ouch that sounds too harsh and unnecessary) that she needs to really come out and sing with a punch!! And next week is big band week, so hopefully no more rubbish pop songs!!

I wouldn't trust the week themes. I mean on the supposed dance week Sophie got I'm With You?! Cry Me A River is a perfect big band themed song but that's already been done now. I just hope Sophie's given a song which allows the neutrals and the haters to see the star quality that she has because quite frankly, she has not been done any justice with these given songs. Arghh!

She outshone Emilie in the sing-off, come on Sophie sing like that in your song and you wont be in the sing off again. she's great!

Kinda off topic but why do they always give Sophie the most revealing outfits? I mean I'm not complaining but can't they alter it?! During Sophie's solo in the mash up did anyone else notice her cleavage just in your face?
