I'm guilty of really liking her as opposed to really liking the idea of her as Dorothy (as I'm not sure she's the best suited for the role).
I want Steph to stay for a while yet though

Well I thought ALW wanted to put a new spin on the idea of Dorothy!
I like Steph and she should go far! |

Steph has a lovely voice but I couldn't forgive her (or her mentors?) for "yewww" instead of "you", which she sang over and over in her song yesterday. Don't they do diction?
I hope she stays awhile but I don't see her as the winner. parthena |

I LOVE Steph.
Definitely one of my faves, along with Lauren and Danielle. Idk how she was in the bottom two, there were quite a few girls who I would have put there instead of Steph. So I was gutted about that, thank God ALW saved her and I hope she can make it through next week. |

I like Steph though she's not my favourite.
Being in the first sing off might not do her any harm. It'll make people who vote for her realise they have to get up and vote no matter what! |

I don't know if she'd be as good for Dorothy as the likes of Jessica and Danielle, but I really do love her, and I think she could give a great spin on the role.
I do see her more as a pop artist. But it's very early days, she may grow into the role of Dorothy with time. Cracking girl though I liked her VT the best and like her voice.

If she'd been an X-Factor finalist, I'd have been backing her all the way (even though I don't really watch the show!).

I agree with that entirely! Steph is my absolute favourite but i didn't vote but shall be from here on in. Her performance yesterday was outstanding- vocally for me she is the best there, as for dorothy itself maybe she isn't the most suited but I'd sure as hell rather listen to her than the screeching mess that was Emilie....

On the first chorus, Steph sounds identical to Shoshana Bean, who is one of the finest actresses to ever play Elphaba on broadway. |

Steph is definitely my absolute favourite - she has a great voice, looks confident on stage, ISN'T annoying (unlike some of them - Jessica and Jenny step forward), interprets the songs she's given appropriately and looks as if she could hold centre stage in a big show.
Apparently, though, it isn't a singing competition... if Sunday's result is anything to go by. I hope that the public demonstrate some better judgement and keep her in. |

I like her, and was surprised that she was in the bottom 2. She has a good voice and I think that the song was just pretty forgettable.
I still think of her as Harri from my parents are aliens.

I don't have an absolute favourite yet (and truth be told, it's likely to take me til at least half way through to start properly deciding on that) but Steph is definitely among the best for me and I was *very* shocked to see her in the bottom two on Saturday!
I think I may also be guilty of liking her and loving her voice rather than clearly seeing her in the role of Dorothy, but honestly to my eyes she looks younger than a fair few of the others despite being older, and she's been hired as an actress before so presumably she can act the part, in which case... why shouldn't she make a good Dorothy? I fail to see why the girls have to be like Dorothy in real life, it's not as though they'll be casting a Wicked Witch of the West on the basis that she raises winged monkeys as a hobby! If nothing else I hope she stays in for as long as possible because I really like her as a performer. And maybe she won't come across as someone who prefers big R'n'B numbers, or whatever it was the panel said, if she gets to sing something that, well, isn't a big R'n'B number. She might genuinely prefer that style, of course, but I'd like to see her prove she can do other styles as well.

She's my second fave. I see her as a dorithy. A different one perhaps. But who cares, she's one of the best. And deserves a chance.

count me in as a fan. she is a very talented performer. and very cute too
![]() quite how she ended up in the bottom two last week is beyond me. I can see she isn't quite right for dorothy in the traditional sense of the role but she's also too good for low-grade trash like the x factor. If the show was casting for a role more suited to her (something more modern and glitzy) then I'm sure she would walk it. |

Still don't see why Steph's not Dorothy material? She's a great singer, she can dance, she can act, she looks warm, enthusiastic and likeable, she comes across as positive and professional - OK she may have a couple of years on the others, but honestly, it's not by much, is it! And if ALW wants a more 'modern' Dorothy, she has that edge, too - yet she's still petite, pretty, .. she could be Dorothy!
