I am sure she will find her place somewhere......she is certainly more talented than Kelly Brook who seems to have had a great 'career' without any seeming talent at anything......Amy can certainly sing so I am sure she will be fine.

No way can I agree with the OP, that Amy was "screwed over" in the show.

I dont know why she was in the final 10, as frankly there was no way she was suitable for the role of Dorothy.

This doesnt detract from her real talent, which showed in her singing, but the real reason the panel put her through is really puzzling, at least to me.

I think she proved herself to be a very good singer and performer and that she isn't all boobs and makeup.

Screwed over? Not really she got seen by a lot of people who wouldnt have seen her before and now has a platform to move on from and it will probably be a little bit easier for her to get seen at auditions.

I don't think most people will think Amy was screwed over: they will think, like her, that she was given a fantastic opportunity to showcase her talents, she used the opportunity to the absolute max, she performed superbly and she left the show absolutely radiant, on a high note in more ways than one. ALW gave her an on the record platinum reference and a pointer towards a great current role.

Despite the show consistently branding her a 'glamour model' which must have wiped 10% off her national vote, she came across as a hard worker and a very nice person and the other girls seemed genuinely upset she was the first to go.

But it's an audition: she's a great performer, but she's not right for the job. Physical casting is important, Dorothy isn't a statuesque, 20 something, buxom beauty. Amy wasn't helped with blonde hair, heavy make-up and a huge cleavage fighting to get out of that little girl's frock, but whatever they'd done she'd never have looked like Dorothy.

I couldn't agree more, she radiated class, composure and beauty and her exit song was THE best ever on any of the shows. I was blown away by her at the end.

Her inclusion in the final 10 was just RIDICULOUS, she was never, ever a Dorothy and to include someone of her talent who will obviously go in the first week seems just cruel. Her place could have gone to Katie or Tegan or someone far more suitable and if ALW et al rated her, as they undoubtedly did, all they had to do was pass her name on to the Legally Blond exces or something.

It's left a bad taste in my mouth, her inclusion felt like a pure publicity thing and wasn't fair on Amy at all.

I must admit that it got up my nose the way the panel dismissed her by use of the 'glamour' word. They knew about her past before they put her into the final ten and there was no need to throw her past at her during the show. It smacks of nastiness and if I had been Amy I would have thrown my shoes at them long before the end. Talk about being set up for a fall.

I have to say that I think Amy was wrong when she said she had been voted out because she was a glamour model (or words to that effect). I have been mildly but pleasantly surprised to find a lack of negative posts about her in this forum. The overwhelming response is that she was really good but all wrong for the part. Even those who might have been predisposed against her seem to have been won over by her. I really believe she was out first because she is so obviously the least suited to the role of Dorothy.

Amy could have dyed her hair brown, done away with the fake tan and toned down her make up for her very first audition but she was canny enough to know that her voice alone was not enough to make her stand out. She's got fantastic publicity out of this - and shown herself in a much better light than a 9 week stint on Big Brother would have done.

She's not a great musical theatre singer but has a good pop voice that would be suited to some of the lighter roles in more modern shows - yes, Legally Blonde is a logical choice but probably not in the West End as she's really not that good. Perhaps she can replace Nadine in Girls Aloud ...

Completely agree. I don't think it's a coincidence that the two poppiest voices were in the bottom 2. Amy looked crazily tall next to Steph in the sing off as well. Was surprised they got rid of her though as vocally she wiped the floor with Steph on Whistle down the Wind.

I agree. I much preferred her voice in the sing-off. Steph's constant grinning to the cameras got on my nerves as well. Amy came across as more natural and genuine during the performance.

Amy wasn't right for the part as she was, but if she'd been allowed to stay for a few more weeks and changed her hair colour, toned down the girliness and flirtiness a bit, then I think she could have made a fair bash at it.

She would still have been too tall and too old-looking to play Dorothy. She will find something else more suited to her, I'm sure.

I thought Amy had an absolutely fantastic voice - as was witnessed beautifully with the end song.

However, I do honestly believe she was too sexy to be Dorothy. Dorothy was a young farm girl from Kansas and I don't think that Amy fitted that description.

For me Danni is visually Dorothy out of all of the possible Dorothys but whether she is strong enough to fight off the others will remain to be seen

I'm quite sad Amy has gone. She obviously wasn't Dorothy but I will miss watching her performances and she deserved a bit longer run considering her talent.

I agree. I thought Tegan and Camille looked much more the part and had good voices. Sarah looked right too but not sure how strong her voice is.

Amy got a lot of publicity that she wouldn't otherwise have had. She's bound to get a role somewhere.

I was hugely impressed by Amy, you just wouldn't expect a page 3 girl to be able to sing like that. She was really good and should have been in the competition much longer.

I don't think it was the 'model' bit that got her voted out but the fact that she looks more like 30 than 23.

On the off chance that she might read this here's some advice from a typical male. Dump the makeup, adopt a traditional hairstyle, look your age and concentrate on the voice, which is very good.

I also think she should have stayed over Steph. Both are equally not Dorothy, yet Amy has more star-potential I think and a better person to have kept in the competition. Plus she performed better in the sing-off...

Just wait for "Paris Hilton - The Musical". She'd be perfect! Every time I saw her, that's all I could think of!

I agree that it was weird to put her in the final 10 then bang on and on about how she could never be Dorothy. The words "cannon fodder" were used in this house.

I have to say that her exit song was sensational!!!!!!! I am sure she will do very well in musicals.

I liked Amy a lot, and think she was one of the most talented of the lot, but no way could I see her as Dorothy; I know she is only young, but looks are everything, and quite honestly I thought she looked old enough to play Dorothy's Mother (if there was such a part in the play, which there isn't).

True, but it would have been interesting to see how much more suitable she would have been, if you know what I mean. She had a vulnerability about her in the singoff that made her seem much younger - I would have liked to see if that could have been developed. Steph has a wonderful voice but she is less of a Dorothy IMO, than Amy had the potential to be.

Well I never seriously saw her as a contender for Dorothy - but if means a chance to showcase your talents before a large primetime TV audience I am sure plenty of young actors/singers will queing up to be 'screwed over'

I thought she got a fab exit and one that will be fresh and memorable unlike the girls going later on.

She was never going to be Dorothy- This production has got to bring in the coach-loads to get bums on theatre seats so the casting will be safe. However I could see her playing Truly in Chitty for example. Nice girl. Hope she does well

Amy got all the time she deserved on the show. It was wrong that she was put through in the first place. I am not trying to be cruel, but she looks much older than 22 and the layers of pancake on her face did not help at all in making her appear younger.

I was relieved that the voting public and then ALW himself realised that she was not right for the part, it was just a shame that she had the space that someone more suited to the role could have had.

I am not disputing that she has a good voice (because she does), but what (apart from a desire for recognition and quick fame) drove her to audition for a role that she was as suitable for as I am (a 36 year old woman)? My guess is that she went into it knowing that the exposure would be good for her career as long as she made it into the top 10.

And in that it may well have been a two way street. At the end of this series, only one person can be cast as Dorothy (although one or two others may get a chance at the role as an understudy/replacement) so the others will be looking to catch the eye of those involved in other shows. For that reason, I have no problem with there being a couple of girls in there who are not right for Dorothy provided they are talented. I'd rather see a very talented girl showcased even though she may not be right for the part in question than a girl who looks the part far more but doesn't have the singing/acting talent of the first. Let's face it, neither is going to win or even get very far but the first stands more of a chance of making something of the publicity than the second does.
