Usually I download Stephanie, Jessica and Danielle every week straight off, and then re-watch them.

I've re-watched Stephanie's goodbye (reluctantly.. but I was crying so kind of missed it on Sunday) but having seen it can't bring myself to watch her sing-off or her solo.

It was horribly unfair. I said to my mum the first week that I was excited at the prospect of my fave actually having a chance of winning this year. I don't understand what it was ALW didn't see..

Aw we must keeep this thread alive to support Stephanie!

Missing her already!

Can't believe Jenny and Jessica are so much more popular - they've been my least fabvourites in the live shows!

xxxx
I don't think they are more popular, more people just picked the phone up to vote on Saturday. Stephanie was the favourite to win and a lot of people are upset about her leaving, but this always happens in these competitions. People expect certain acts to be safe so they don't vote, which is a shame

Anyway, Stephanie is pretty, talented and a lovely girl, so I have no doubt she will go far

Poor Stephanie, she was the most consistent of all the Dorothys;
I knew she would go when she got the dreaded song,(ALW, should realise that this song that is not suitable for a teenage girl to sing, yet he still insists on using it???): and also the VTs from the other girls i.e she wont be able to cope on her own etc, she was onto a loser and knew it.
Plus I believe that her local radio station has had a large number of callers stating that they were unable to get through on the phones to vote for her!!! (The BBC have said they will look into it?)
ALW, should have given her another chance as Steph had previously been saved in sing off with Danni.
Unfair I say

As I wait for tonight's show, I am sad I won't be seeing Stephanie.

Ah well, I think the reaction to her elimination is telling. It is easy to fall in love with Stephanie. Anyone else think she was Charlotte's favourite?

I was really gutted at first, but now I think... so she is not Dorothy... she'll be something else! Maybe something more bold, with more dancing, and more singing... hehe

I still don't know who to support now! Will have to see how the show goes and how they each perform.

My heart isn't in this series since Stephanie left. Could have cried again tonight when she wasn't there.

SHOCK ELIMINATION IT WAS. Something wasn't right? Stephanie had the best tone of voice, personality, stage presence and acting! Do they think the public is stupid???
They got rid of Stephanie to make way for someone else... So obvious. You don't go from Bookies favourite to bottom of the pile!! MR BOJANGLES WHAT A JOKE. sir andrew llod webber hang your head in shame. xxxx

I really missed her tonight, especially during the group song.

I did appreciate the fact that they showed her sitting watching the show though, that was nice.

I agree, it was a shock.

I think ALW really liked her though, he gave her great compliments, and hopefully they will maintain a good relationship. He is certainly someone you want on your side in the business.

Having said that, this would have been a great week for her, and I think would have sounded better than most of them did tonight. The only voice that compares to hers is Lauren's. And I still think Stephanie's sounds nicer, and she is more likable. Also, if they wanted to "test" her acting, well then, this would have been a much better opportunity than Mr. Bojangles.

wantumine - did they? when? i missed that!

When did they show Stephanie??
Right after that part where they talk about the BBC arts fund or whatever... they cut back to the audience to film the girl they are talking about, and you can see Stephanie sitting right beside her.

You only see her for about one second though. I remember we saw Bronte after she was eliminated too - but none of the others i don't think..

After watching last nights show i don't think theres anyone left who has the all round package to play Dorothy. I used to think Danielle had it too but her performances last night showed up massive weaknesses in her vocal ability. Lauren has the voice but not the likability factor and looks too mature, Sophie has the looks but not the confidence and i think her inexperience shows in her voice, Jessie has the youthful appeal but not the vocal talent - that only leaves Steph who has the ability but who will never look as perfect as Stephanie.

It wouldn't surprise me if ALW is majorly regretting his decision to let her go.

i no Stephanie was my Dorothy, last night i missed her, i keep wishing that she would have got a up beat song last week instead of stupid Bojangles, she would have blown everyones socks of this week in musical theatre week, i hope she has success, also i guess that all the other girls have missed her really badly because she was a big presence in the house and also in last nights show they all kept briniging her, i wish we could turn back time and ggive her something like mambo italiano (she would of smashed that). GOOD LUCK STEPHANIE!!

Ahh it was nice they showed her. The only other girl they've done that with was Bronte, IIRC. I think it's a good sign for her.

I also think ALW is starting to regret her elimination. I'm still not over the fact that he gave Steph a 3rd chance over Stephanie. Steph had been in the bottom 2 in the first week or 2 but Stephanie had not even entered it, nor got near I would predict until the middle of the competition. Plus her odds were so favourable. I think I saw her on at 5/4 at one point.

I think it's clear to everyone, including the panellists, that regardless of whether you were a huge fan or not overly bothered, Stephanie was still someone liked by everyone. Had Stephanie been Dorothy I think this would have meant a lot of people would have gone. I know my sister and her friends certainly bought their tickets in the hope that they would see Stephanie take to the stage. She was also a favourite of my parents - when we last spoke my Dad wanted to get tickets for my Mums birthday and this was the week after 'Nobody Does It Better' because they reckoned Stephanie would get the role. I was at the studio's on the 2nd week (week Bronte got eliminated0 where Stephanie sang 'Smile' and her voice really is sublime.

But I suppose we shouldn't dwell on it. We know she would have been a great, archetypal Dorothy; she certainly was one of the ones who looked most like a Dorothy (minus the red lippy ) but I'm sure she will go on to amazing things and I personally can't wait for her to be in something and go and see it!

The show lost any remaining credibility the moment she was eliminated in my opinion.

There wasn't an awful lot left, let's be honest.

I think this whole series has been decidedly underwhelming which is unfortunate because as soon as I heard they were going to go for it and do another BBC series, I was really looking forward to it. I'm dying to see it on stage but just feel like it could be a bit of a let down...

She was the best all-rounder they had imo, she wasn't the best singer/performer/actress but I think all of the others are severely lacking in one field or another. Sophie is a good all-rounder but I just find her forgettable.

None of the performers were actually that outstanding if the truth be told.

Unfortunately, ALW's favoured couple throughout have been less than remarkable.

Stephanie's presence was so missed last night. I bet she would have sung On My Own better than Danielle. One thing I really noticed was how indistinct the rest of their voices are - Stephanie's is instantly recognisable, it has such a rich and beautiful tone. Of the girls left, only Sophie, really, has a voice with any character, although Steph's voice is very pleasing to listen to. The most generic sounding, to me, is Danielle...but we know that the Lord likes generic sounding females!

I am glad I am not the only one who misses Stephanie's presence. I don't want to dwell, but I can't help it, she just so obviously performs better than most of these girls in my opinion, and last nights show really solidified that for me. I still love the show, but they just seemed a tad underwhelming bunch to me. Danielle sang horribly, Jessica was SO out of breath, Lauren did her usual mechanically good vocal thing but clearly the public aren't impressed, Steph did not sound great... not what you'd expect from FINAL 5, supposedly the best ones.

I know if I were ALW I would be regretting the decision, especially after last night.

edit to add:

Joshy - completely agree. Her voice was so rich and beautiful, while the others sound quite generic... with the exception of maybe Sophie because I think it has a bit of a unique twang to it, like she'd be a really good country singer, ha.

Re: comments on the singing voices and tone - was surprised when CC said Danielle had the 'most obvious West End voice'. I would have given that title to Stephanie and probably Lauren.

Really silly decision by ALW to let her go. I can only think that it was a tactical vote to make way for Danielle. I know we shouldn't drag up things like that and 'theories' but I really don't see any logic in it. Still.

I was surprised too. Although, the way she said it, it didn't sound like a huge compliment to me, and I wouldn't be surprised if there was more to that sentence, like "She has the most obvious west end voice, but needs to work on..." I much preferred her calling Stephanie's voice 'melting chocolate' anyway

Anyway, I also don't like bringing up all the 'theories' but... yeah... anyway. Onto the bigger and better.

STEPHANIE'S VOICE WAS BY FAR THE BEST. IT WAS A TRAVESTY SHE WENT. UP UNTIL THEN SHE WAS THE ONLY DOROTHY WHO HAD EITHER NOT BEEN IN THE BOTTOM TWO OR BEEN TOLD SHE WASN'T DOROTHY!!!! AND SHE WAS FAVOURITE....

I could not believe she got the lowest votes and everyone I know who tried to vote for her couldn't get through....

BRING BACK STEPHANIE!!!!!!!
