Okay...I have to ask: who cares what packaging the new toys are in and whether it is remotely more or less eye-catching? This is DW weekend gone straight off the deep end and into insanity...

Well, using all my deductive powers, I come to this conclusion:

The OP and the person who then responded "looks good" are the ones who care.

You don't care. Although you still feel sufficiently moved (despite not caring) to post a comment in the thread (about something you don't care about ... perhaps you do care after all.)

And, I reckon that all the people who don't post in this thread probably don't care. Which is why they're keeping quiet about it.

Oh, look at that, you can buy a raggedy Doctor! Given he'll not wear that look again, I guess toy sales are a lot greater than I might imagine?

They are made so that you cannot open them then replace them again,so a collector may feel they have to buy two

I will probably buy two, one for the little one to play with, and one to keep intact.

Damn you character options!

I have never ever bought a Doctor Who toy. Never. But after that brilliant first episode I'll buy anything they make now!

Actually I won some Tenth Doctor stuff from SFX mag a while ago, and would like to add to it with some Eleventh Doctor gear too, so these are quite appealing.

I've never been that keen on the toys myself. all the obvious joint connections and the like make them seem a bit... cheap.

I have a couple of the diecast models - The TARDIS and Dalek but none of the figures.

I keep seeing the new Doctor figures though and am quite tempted.

It's better than the older ones without joints. And they are very well made as a rule - five years of Doc No:9 and Rose being flung around the playroom by my Daughter and then my son (OK as well as by me!!!) and still they are as good as new - all the other charecter options figures are as indestructable in my opinion.

Why no non frumpy Donna yet?

On the other hand, the sculpts are generally very good, and the faces a very good likeness. Well painted and the attention to detail is great.

However, I'm not sure they have quite got Doc11's face right.
