I love the above song too! I was listening to "What's Missing" by Alexander O' Neal earlier as well when preparing dinner.
I had my mp3 player on shuffle and listened to a few 80s tracks including: Rochelle - Magic Man (highly recommended to those that don't recall this one) Thompson Twins - You Take Me Up Style Council - My Ever Changing Moods Talk Talk - Life's What You Make It Spandau Ballet - Only When You Leave Bruce Springsteen - I'm On Fire OMD - Electricity Culture Club - Time (Clock of the Heart) |

Thompson Twins - You Take Me UpStyle Council - My Ever Changing Moods Talk Talk - Life's What You Make It Spandau Ballet - Only When You Leave Bruce Springsteen - I'm On Fire OMD - Electricity Culture Club - Time (Clock of the Heart) I have different playlists for each decade and this is on my 80s one. Whats Missing by Alex O'Neal is my favourite track of his by the way, followed by Fake. Its amazing to know this music is loved by others and still remembered. |

If I had to choose a favourite Alex song, I'd probably settle for "(What Can I Say) To Make You Love Me," although "What's Missing" is definitely a close second. As for Rochelle's 'Magic Man,' I used to have it on a mixtape years ago and had forgotten about it until I was searching around on Youtube one day. Along with "What's Missing," it has a top bassline and should have done a lot better on the UK charts. |

Great choice! When I was DJing at weddings and the like in the early 2000s, I used to play a load of the soul/funk from the 80s and it always went down well.

As for Alex, well I was big fan of the Jam and Lewis sound and they have never got the credit they deserved despite enormous suscess. I love all this type of 80s stuff, collect loads of it '80s groove as some of it was called. Reminds me of the old Master Cuts albums. ![]() This is what I loved about the late 80s, early/mid 90s dance culture when all types of dance music was embraced and going to the HMV every Saturday was like Christmas every week. |

Yeah I think it was a bit ahead of its time. There was another song by Dhar Braxton called Jump Back around the same time and that was definately ahead of its time.
