Hope it's for RTD, PF and GH although given the US Industry's distaste at Joss Whedon's treatment over at Fox with "Dollhouse" that's where my money would be going

well he has a 3/5 chance there!

I hope Waters of Mars wins.

My money would be on that one too. Having seen Dollhouse and Flash Forward can't see there's a great competition, although Whedon has a lot of fanboys voting for him.

Very surprised that Flashforward got nominated, but in my opinion it is between Waters of Mars and Epitaph One (which I thought was pure genius).

Just couldn't take to Dollhouse myself.

strewth!

That list is a hugely damning indictment on the quality of TV sci-fi.

Surprised that Torchwood 3 wasn't on the list. (Or does it's 5-part structure disqualify it?)

5 hours is hardly short form - it should receive loads of awards though, it was fantastic.

\

It certainly is, two uninspired stale lifeless and limping shows with struggling ratings facing the chop, Just shows how stale the 'adult' sci-fi world has become, how unimaginative, dull, niche targeted, hyped up the next 'big thing' sci fi, shaky cam infested, cod intellectual it all is. Yet strangely enough only one show in that list still maintains its steady ratings and popularity, and that's after 5 years.

I'd say it's between “No More Good Days” and "Waters of Mars".

“No More Good Days” was the 1st episode of FF and was very good - pity the rest was so poor.

But I have to agree the list is poor especially when you compare them to the Long Form shortlist -

* Avatar Screenplay and Directed by James Cameron (Twentieth Century Fox)
* District 9 Screenplay by Neill Blomkamp & Terri Tatchell; Directed by Neill Blomkamp (TriStar Pictures)
* Moon Screenplay by Nathan Parker; Story by Duncan Jones; Directed by Duncan Jones (Liberty Films)
* Star Trek Screenplay by Robert Orci & Alex Kurtzman; Directed by J.J. Abrams (Paramount)
* Up Screenplay by Bob Peterson & Pete Docter; Story by Bob Peterson, Pete Docter, & Thomas McCarthy; Directed by Bob Peterson & Pete Docter (Disney/Pixar)

And if you really want to weep have a look at the 2009 short form nominees

* “The Constant” (Lost) Carlton Cuse & Damon Lindelof, writers; Jack Bender, director (Bad Robot, ABC studios)
* Doctor Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog Joss Whedon, & Zack Whedon, & Jed Whedon & Maurissa Tancharoen , writers; Joss Whedon, director (Mutant Enemy)
* “Revelations” (Battlestar Galactica) Bradley Thompson & David Weddle, writers; Michael Rymer, director (NBC Universal)
* “Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead” (Doctor Who) Steven Moffat, writer; Euros Lyn, director (BBC Wales)
* “Turn Left” (Doctor Who) Russell T. Davies, writer; Graeme Harper, director (BBC Wales)

Prepare to scream when you see the 2008 nominees

* Battlestar Galactica “Razor” Written by Michael Taylor Directed by Félix Enríquez Alcalá and Wayne Rose (Sci Fi Channel) (televised version, not DVD)
* Doctor Who “Blink” Written by Steven Moffat Directed by Hettie Macdonald (BBC)
* Doctor Who “Human Nature’ / “Family of Blood” Written by Paul Cornell Directed by Charles Palmer (BBC)
* Star Trek New Voyages “World Enough and Time” Written by Michael Reaves & Marc Scott Zicree Directed by Marc Scott Zicree (Cawley Entertainment Co. and The Magic Time Co.)
* Torchwood “Captain Jack Harkness” Written by Catherine Tregenna Directed by Ashley Way (BBC Wales)

Wow!

Sad to see how much standards have fallen over 2 years.

Surely Torchwood COE was as much a serial as FlashForward is and could have been included?
Also why havent any newer Lost episodes been included as they are much superior to the three very mediocre Dr Who 'specials'?

When you consider that this years winner will receive the same accolade that Blink receieved with a much poorer production it is sickening.
