I was just looking back at my early days of doing photo shoots and miss that atmosphere. you never get it in the clubs today. Whats your views on it?

I'm not a clubber myself and never have been but most of, if not all my friends were/are into the scene and all of them say for varying reasons it's just not the same anymore.

Nostaligia is a beautiful thing though.

Not sure what you mean when you say early days?

Are you talking about the Northern Soul/Mowtown/Ska nights in the 60s, Disco in the 70s (the all time peak for clubbing), the soul/funk scene of the late 70/80s, the new romantic scene of the early 80s, the House/Acid scene of the late eighties, the ere of the Rave/Superclubs periods of the early to mid 90s (Superclubswhich in itself was a rehash of what had been done in 70s at places like Studio 54, Paradise Garage etc) or the UK garage scene of the late 90s and......oh hang on that's when they run out ideas.

Not trying to clever by the way but there does tend to be a lot of ignorance (deliberate in some parts of the music industry) as to when modern club culture began.

I think what has happened generally with clubbing as with the music industry, either there is no where to go or creativity is not being allowed/or is too big a risk.

My period was the early/mid 90s and that was I have to say a pretty amazing time-although that scene was dead in its original format by the end of the 90s because it became too corperate.

But then as the poster above has stated, was it that good to begin with?

The music was better sure, (IMO) but some of the 'facilities' that we had to put with would'nt be acceptable now.
