TOTO Let's Make Andrew Lloyd-Webber's Toto, a Rescue Dog!
RESCUEDOGS

I'm looking forward to this part of the show and really hope that they do choose a rescue dog and raise the profile of Rescue dogs in the media.

There is a group that has been started up on FB called

Let's Make Andrew Lloyd-Webber's Toto, a Rescue Dog!

I won't post a link as I don't know if that is allowed..but it really is all for a good cause, so worth having a look

I have a rescue dog and she is beautiful. I am always amazed when people buy dogs from breeders without considering rescue dogs first

There are so many beautiful and unwanted dogs in the rescue centres I really do think that there ought to be laws limiting the breeding of dogs

I think Toto absolutely should be a rescue dog. It would be great publicity and it would prove to people how great rescue dogs can be

thank you for posting this I will join the FB group

What a good idea! We've currently got our 2nd rescue dog and I would recommend people look around their local shelter before buying a dog.

The Toto they are looking for isnt for the actual show, but for a one off performance.

That said, I think it would be nice to get a rescue dog as the special Toto, and as the OP says, raise the profile of rescue charities.

I'm a Cat person, but I still think this is a great idea!

All the dogs we've had have been rescue dogs. Not a pedigree amongst them, but all wonderful companions with great personalities!

I think this is a great idea!

Quite a lot of pedigrees end up at rescue centres too suprisingly enough.

My own rescue dog is a pedigree breed but I didn't choose her for that. I chose her because she's a very loving, friendly little thing. I like any old dogs - its the personality that counts

I have two lovely rescue Jack Russells and was considering entering our younger dog Sparky but my mum said the auditions are held too far away, and unfortunately I'm not an independent traveller otherwise I wouldn't care, I'd go anyway!

We had a pedigree Irish Red and White Setter when my sis and I were little, our parents were being more careful then as we were kids but our resuce Russells are just as lovely. A rescue Toto would be fab - as Dorothy is kind of a waif/stray herself, it'd be very fitting.

I would have so loved to have Sparky perform with Stephanie in the West End! I will love whichever dog is picked though! I'm a huge dog lover, and at least that will be one area of the show where I'm not totally biased now that Sparky can't enter!

Thanks ewoodie! Sparky is indeed adorable!

If I was more independent, I'd take her for an audition!

I'd love to see her as Stephanie's Toto! She loves dogs, and no one could fail to love Sparky!

Aw Sparky has a lovely nature as well!

I've even taught her the vocal warm up trilling like Siobhan does on American Idol - she can kind of do it!
