I agree with all of that, and am very happy that Smug Mockney Git Doctor has been consigned to history. I have watched hardly any of his stuff more than once, and am glad that his sobbing, blubbering, snivelling brand of matiness has ended.

He has the bone structure, the skinniness and the big hair in his eyes that are just what young leading men look like right now (Patterson, Colin Morgan, Ben Whitshaw, Nicholas Hoult, Christian Cooke - all variations on the same thing). Plus he's got a very expressive face, great smile, and looked lovely, imo, taking his shirt off. I would be very upset if I were to find myself fancying Doctor Who. Ther's something intrinsically wrong about fancying the Doctor, and I was always flummoxed by all those people who were workign themselves into a lather over David Tennant's alleged sexiness.
Matt Smith has the look that is fashionable. A friend of mine is a high school teacher, and said that her students get very excited about thin, pasty people: best exemplified by that Patterson vampire person. Matt is thin, with big hair "and bone structure". I am sure that this has not hindered his career in the past. I can't decide whether or not I fancy him ... which suggests I probably don't. I am very happy with that, for reasons outlined above.
All that Tennant adoration did my bleedin' head in.
