I've just listened to this on youtube for the second time, and to be honest, this is one hell of a tune. It's a bloody shame that she's not from the U.K because she could have represented us [Eurovision] with this fantastic song. It's completely hypnotic. I just adore the sad/hypnotic tune that's in this song. Anyone else love this song?

I agree this song is brilliant, and more than a bit different.

But you are a little late though - I think its already been through the charts. It got quite a bit of radio airplay.

Just how was your trip to Mars?

Yes, yes. I do realise that it's already been in the charts and gone, but made this thread because I just fancied a listen to it tonight, and now, wanted other user's comments on it.

Because I'm very late with asking users about this song. I might have worded my post in a way that indicated that I've only just listened to it.

I totally agree, I was really dissapointed when she went from that, something genuinely interesting, back to her normal repetitive crap.

Russian Roulette is such an awful song.............. the first couple of times you hear it. It is a song that really takes time to like. Fantastic song. Did better here then the US. It went out the US chart very quick.

I don't know why she choose this as first single. Its the weakest on her album.

I think they did it because it was very different. Look at her three previous lead singles. Both are three club bangers. To begin her new ERA with a dark edgy ballad was definitely different and it payed off.

Russian Roulette was perfect to start off this era. It's dark, haunting and different. I loved it instantly, although I know it took time for others to get into it. The gun sounds throughout the song make it even better.

I had actually gone off Rihanna during the GGGB era because her and the songs were just everywhere but after listening to Russian Roulette, I couldn't wait for the album. RR isn't exactly the best on the album (Fire Bomb is miles ahead) but I still think it was perfect to come back with. And let's be honest, if it was the best on the album, people would complain that the album was a 'disappointment'.

This was a bad song. It started off quite interestingly with that guitar at the start and the verse but the chorus always reminded me of a cheesy Eurovision ballad entry RiRi needs to stick to a more upbeat style. Rude Boy suits her perfectly.

I really hate the way she sings "...my heart beaaattttiiinnnnnnn" It honestly goes through me. I couldn't watch a full live concert with her even though she has some good catchy songs.

Awful song? Thanks for giving me a laugh there. Russian Roulette is a very superior song. It's beat and lyrics is just totally fantastic.

Well, I utterly disagree with you here. But, we all have our likes and dislikes.
