Hi,

Since we switched to Sky's unbundled service our phone line has been terrible, our fax machine cuts off, no dial tone is sometimes received, our phone will randomly ring and sometimes calls will connect but just make a horrible screeching sound. We asked Sky and the said it was "teething trouble and will be fixed in a FEW MONTHS"! Suffice to say we've had enough.

I'm thinking of going back to BT for line rental, it may be a little dearer but at least we'll have a working phone line!

My question is if I leave Sky Talk and go back to BT do I loose Sky Broadband as well? It's not a major issue as I am an O2 customer and could get a similar package on O2 for £10PPM.

Thanks for your help.

The trouble leaving sky and going to BT is that you will still be fed by the same pair of wires from the local Telephone Exchange, also that pair of wires would still be repaired by Openreach.
So I suspect jumping ship will not solve you problems

From what you descibe switching will make no difference to your line (as speckledhen says) except that you will be contacting someone else to complain.

Unless (as sounds likely) it is Sky's equipment at the exchange which is causing your problems.

It definitely is Sky they even admitted there problem is due to overload in the exchange on their new equipment, and our problems started when we were unbundled.

In which case, I'd say they are in breach of contract, you can leave without penalty and Sky will be liable to pay any charges you incur (e.g. reconnection charges BT impose).
