Well done to Lauren for being outstanding every week of the show without fail.

She showed good grace, composure and once again, awesome vocals on her final song of OTR.I didn't expect anything less.

Just don't understand why more people on here didn't take to her.

If you had never seen this show, then went to see Dorothy 3 times with the finalists each playing Dorothy once,i would be confident that the vast majority would rate the performance of Lauren as the best.

Ah well,i will never understand the British public i suppose.

A glittering future awaits for Lauren,of that i'm confident.

I'm glad John highlight she wasn't the most unpopular girl in the world! I think she was very honest saying that and I can imagine that would be exactly how you'd feel. She really fought for it in the final and I know we'll be seeing her soon!

He spoke even more sense when he said that a real producer would have cast her weeks ago

Well, Lauren wanted to be Dorothy so I'm disappointed she didn't win But I agree, there are better roles

OK,In the cold light of day.Time to reflect.

On balance, given the role of Dorothy and what it requires,Danielle is the ideal choice.Congratulations to her.She is a worthy winner, for reasons commented on elsewhere.

Lauren is an exceptionally talented performer. In terms of her solo vocal performances no one came anywhere near challenging her.In the end, whether we agree with it not,and ironically it was her maturity and polished professional qualities that denied her the role.

She was eclipsed (vote wise) by the more natural qualities of both Sophie and Danielle.
Looking back, more than any other performance it was her duet with Danielle, that convinced me she was not going to win. They were,as everyone has said both brilliant.
But Popular was set up to present the girls acting qualities. It was a vocally undemanding number.I have to say,Danielle is a more accomplished actress than Lauren.Of course we are talking about differences at a very high level. So in relative terms it makes little difference in respect of being a West End Star, but it was crucial with regard to being Dorothy.

But it is Lauren's vocals that set her aside. She was the only girl who sent tingles down my spine when she sang. Her rendition of The Man who got way was the best of the entire series. It was a powerhouse performance.
However because of the kind of song it was,it was never going to be compared with Danielle's Mambo Italiano.

I am now so excited for Lauren. This was a competition for one role. The kudos and the bragging rights quite understandably go to Danielle, but as others have said Lauren may well be a West End Star long before the first lines of the audience take their seats at the Palladium next year.

Yeay for 1000 posts!

I agree with most of that elder7uk, though I still maintain that Lauren would come across better in theatre than Danielle, but I think it's something that Danielle will certainly be able to work on over the next few months; she is an amazing actress and she does have some wonderful subtleties that many actresses out there just don't have, I just think that she needs to act a little 'bigger'. I think a movie musical would be perfect for her!!

I'm looking forward to the day (however long away that may be!) that I get Lauren's first cast recording through the post!

I think that out of all the Dorothy's Lauren will have the most successful career in the west end

Hopefully she will get a part soon and then we can all go and see her in it!!!!

Oh yes...Lauren can project,absolutely.
As I've mentioned somewhere else.Danielle draws you in.She is enigmatically compelling.
Lauren, gives you it straight and tells you it straight. She grabs you by the lapels, throws you back in your seat ,and then slaps you in the face a couple of times just to make sure you've got the message. Her whole presentation is geared to that end.Call it overacting if you want.
It might annoy the Sheila Hancock's of this world, but a good director would mould her to perfection, without losing that essential Laurenness.

Laurenness Love it!

I think her current acting style would work very well, & only needs tweaking/toning down a little to work well in most shows! I don't think she overacts a massive amount, her acting just doesn't always seem quite as natural as a couple of thee others. It's certainly not as bad as some have made it out to be though, and I think she is a much better actress than the majority of the other Dorothys!

I always thought it was a bit insulting to say that Danielle was a better actress than Lauren. Having been trained at the Guildford School of Acting which as we all know is very sought after, surely Lauren is technically a more accomplished and practised actress?

Anyway, not really relevant. I hope Lauren's feeling alright today and not down about it! I woke up feeling a bit glum about how it's all finished ha!

Love love love loved the dress! I'm going to be honest here and say when I was watching it with my housemate's I was more transfixed on the dress and therefore didn't fully focus on the performance; we (the girls in the house) kept saying how nice it was (the boys obviously weren't bothered about a dress!)
