Great post. I agree absolutely. She is brilliant and her OTR was the best of the series. Lovely in defeat too.
Man, was she sensational or what throughout this whole series! Loved every bit of her in the final! I agree that she showed in the group performance that she could've been Dorothy. There she showed she was right for the part. And it was very humorous too. I love that about Lauren, she has such a good sense of humor. I also agree on the fact that Lauren understands how it works to perform on stage. She acts quite big, specifically for the stage, and uses all of her instruments rather well. Ultimately that's what musical theatre performers do, though it might not always have come across that well on tv. Tv just doesn't work that way I suppose.
She did have the best goodbye of all the girls. I'm glad she got her moment of pride! She absolutely nailed that song! Think she already knew she was not going to make it, so prepared well to stun us all. And she succeeded in her mission!

I have to admit, much as I've dislike the Sunday results shows this series, I felt at a bit of a loose end last night without there being one! I opted to re-watch the opening number, "I could have danced all night", the finalists' medley, all the finalists' OTR's and "Popular" instead. It was a good show last night!
Though having rewatched and listened to "I could have danced all night" a few times now, I can only conclude that the fuss about the last note must be because it's Lauren and even her detractors admit that she's been the most consistant and note perfect performer the entire series. I don't think it's even off-key, just a bit wobbly and not as strong as we're used to hearing from her. So really, it's a massive compliment to Lauren that people have commented that the last note was very slightly iffy- nobody would be that fussed about a wobbly note from any of the other girls.

Lauren would be great in it. I also hope she'll get to appear in a concert of ALW music. Aoife and Jessie, two other finalists from Maria and IDA who ALW liked a lot performed in them, and so did Daniel from Any Dream Will Do. I hope Lauren sticks to shows where she showcases her amazing voice and since I don't live in the UK, I would love to have an album of her songs

I hope not, I found that performance on last weeks show immensely dull - it really didn;t make me want to go see the musical!

Just reading some of your posts.... Love Never dies I sure hope not.... TBH i can not believe he made a sequel to an amazing musical.... sequels fall flat on their faces lol..... and this was no different.... also without Tim Rice I just feel ALW is a bit lost.... I think they work better as duo...
