Yeah I saw that too ^
I do hope it is her - if it's another fake it's going be a bit crap. Excuse my language. I don't get why people want to pretend to be them or be wind up merchants or spread rumours about the girls/people they know etc. Doesn't make sense ![]() By the way, I'm a bit confused as to who is who out of people who have followed me on Twitter and I've followed back!? Please can you tell me your DS usernames and your Twitter names so I can work it out?! |

This will forever be my fave Monkseal quote ...
Lauren next, and she’s asked how she feels about Charlotte’s suggestion that Andrew write a musical for her and Danielle, and Lauren giggles that it’d be amazing, and she really thinks it’d be great for Danielle to get all that experience understudying. |

Aw, I keep coming back and hoping to hear she's coming to London soon. I'm off to see Les Mis tomorrow night and I've plans to go to West End Live in two weeks and then hopefully to We Will Rock You after that, so I'm selfishly wanting news around then so I can start planning my next theatre trip!
Though if I put aside my own selfishness, I will admit it's probably better for her not to rush into anything without thinking things through first. I commend her professionalism. (I'd just like her professionalism to speed up a bit, is that too much to ask? )Good news for the Monkie reader awards (over on Monkseal's blog) though, Lauren's got three performances in the top ten (Danielle has two but no one else has more than one), Popular is the top group performance and she's very narrowly beaten into second place for best version of OTR and talent. See, I always knew people appreciated her really!

He says this in the OTR bit though: "In the closest poll of them all, in which I had to grub around twitter for the casting vote, so if the Lauren fans want to know who to blame, they know where to look. Danielle’s subtle, truthy, grave version of Over The Rainbow enchanted 35.6% of you, and left the rest of you scratching your head wondering where that Leona Lewis note went.
2nd – Lauren Samuels – 35.02%" So from the sound of it she only lost out by one vote! And Danielle won pretty much everything going (bar personality) so I think it's safe to assume that most Danielle fans voted her top in every poll, which is fair enough and she did win the thing so it's not exactly a surprise. And in the top performances category I think she suffers from giving too many stand out performances that split her vote (!) but as a result she has more top ten performances than any of the others! So I think it's fair to say she is appreciated by fans of other girls as well as us lot in here.

I attended the Gala Night Monday evening......a mini report with a few details not covered in the News article.
Lauren appeared in both sections of the show - she sang with piano accompaniment. She was wearing her 'I could of danced all night' dress from the OTR final, her hair was down. A running theme developed in the show from the three guys in the Brat Pack that they all fancied Lauren and which one would win her over ...... I didn't recognise the first song, although I have seen Jekyll & Hyde (many moons ago), the vocals were excellent and she was given a good reception. In the 2nd half Lauren had a walk on part in the Brat Pack section, where she walked across the stage with her new best friend the cutest junior male singer in the show (after giving him a cheeky peck on the cheek).....Lauren then joined the Brat Pack for the end of their number. The Brat Pack then presented Lauren with a 'Toto in a basket' (not to be confused with chicken in a basket)....it possibly was a ceramic dog as Lauren indicated it weighed a bit and the Brat Pack then asked her a question each: If you could play a part on the West End tomorrow which one would it be - Eponine from Les Mis. Did you get to keep the sparkly shoes - yes What is your favourite colour - cerise pink (as that was her Dorothy dress colour) As the final main song of the evening Lauren then sang Over the Rainbow....again faultless and resulting in a good ovation from the audience. She then joined in the finale of You Can't Stop The Beat from the musical Hairspray, coming on at the end as the headline act. They say a good performance is one where you are left wanting more and I would certainly of enjoyed a few more songs from Lauren ......have to keep an eye out for the next performance. |

Greetings Laurenettes, very quiet around here recently!
I have been listening to some classic Lauren performances (whilst working on/ procrastinating instead of working on the old dissertation) and thinking how great it would be if Lauren recorded an album (in the vein of Lee Mead after Any Dream Will Do) to keep us going until we get to see her in the west end. She has a lovely recording voice, as demonstrated by (in my opinion!) how much better her recording of OTR came across on the radio than the other two finalists. If she did, what songs would you like to have on it? I can think of some from the show of course but what others? |

I've been listening to the soundtrack/watching YT vids of Thoroughly Modern Millie a lot the last few days (after falling in love with the lead, Sutton Foster
) and I've been thinking how perfect it would be for Lauren! The music suits her voice down to the ground, and I can just completely imagine her in this role! Her Gimme Gimme would be incredible! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C53j2eipfvM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IYmjDSpGmtE |

I really hope she does. She has a fantastic recording voice, and I would keep listening to her songs on my Ipod for ages. But not many of the finalists from the others shows have done that. I can only think of Connie, Aoife, Siobhan, Lee, Keith and Craig. Jodie is doing an album, and I heard Niamh is also doing one. Danielle will obviously do one (with ALW). Since ALW liked Lauren so much, maybe he would give her a go, perhaps after Danielle does an album? Or maybe Charlotte might ask her to do a duet or something on her album, or will recommend her to someone hopefully.
I'd love to hear her sing From the show, I Could Have Danced All Night Nobody Knows Run Heaven Bridge Over Troubled Water Others I Will Always Love You There You'll Be My Heart Will*Go On Unexpected Song Somewhere Love Changes Everything One Rock'N Roll Too Many Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again I can think of about a hundred more, lol. Lauren is the obvious choice to do one. the issue is what to do? Siobhan showcases her voice and is writing too I think, Aoife's album reflects her career. Helena likes particular types of musical and her album is Richard Rogers songs, Abi and Sarah did something new , Niamh's might be surprising, Jessie does a setlist of big US songs or big show numbers and songs that she likes. |
