What I don't get in Stones of Blood, when Vivian Fey is observing the Doctor's trial with the Megara while proclaiming herself to be from Earth, she's dressed like she's a mermaid from the planet Neptune.
I guess the Megara didn't really know what human females looked like, but part of the Doctor's evidence should have included the fact that human females aren't silver lol”

The Megara do not discriminate on the basis of colour.

The Megara are never wrong so they would be well within their rights if they chose to do so!

I liked it as a kid, and still enjoy the Key to Time. My favourite story has to be The Stones of Blood. Rather fond of Beatrix Lehmann as the Professer.

enjoyed series 16. Best episodes for me were Ribos Operation, Stones of Blood and Androids of Tara. Pirate Planet was toooo HGTTG for me, Power Of Kroll was okayish but was a struggle to get through and the Armageddon Factor....deary me, how i got through that i'll never know. Felt drained when it got to episode 6. But overall i enjoyed the key to time set.

yeah armageddon factor is really poor, bit of a shame really cos the season started off really well and then petered out a bit

Well I thought he was quite creepy. That voice sent shivers, and the fact that you can't really tell what he looks like. You're not sure if you can actually see his face or not.
But he was quite annoying aswell, just because he was so manipulative, especially with those controlling devices he used.

Yeah, I thought the Shadow was a great villain and was the best thing about "The Armageddon Factor".

The Shadow is a pretty good baddie ... but the story goes on and on and on and bloody on. Thankless. Copies of Romana appearing in thsoe caves. Drax. The time loop thingummy. They keep chucking in new ideas to keep it chugging along, but the new ideas are pretty second-rate ones. Bob Baker and Dave Martin are the hittest and missest of DW writers.
Sorry

I wasn't a great fan of series 16. My fave story of the lot would probably be The Ribos Operation.

I found the Pirate Planet funny, wasn't that keen on the Androids of Tara, although it was ok. Stones of Blood again, was ok. The Power of Kroll was dull and the Armageddon Factor was pretty rubbish too.

I think the Shadow was a character who could have been a great recurring villain. Deeply sinister.

The Ribos Operation was my favourite from ths series - I loved Garron and Unstoffe, the Graf Vynda K was a credible, three dimensional villain and the monsters were quite effective.

The Pirate Planet was very enjoyable, with Bruce Purchase delivering an almost Blessed-esque performance. (We know it's ham, but it's delicious ham)

I'll stick my neck out here - I think Season 16 is the best ever series of Doctor Who.

It's charming, it's fun, it's got the Doctor, Romana and K9, it's silly, it's suspenseful, it's thought-provoking - ahhhhhh, it's like one big flubbly-wubbly ball of Doctor Who love rolled into 26 episodes!

Cypher

I didn't like The Ribos Operation or Stones of Blood, but thought the rest were all good. My personal favourite was The Armageddon Factor - although the end spoilt it a bit.

Yes, that is certainly sticking your neck out! To be fair, it's worst story is probably a lot better than the worst story of a lot of other Seasons, and it's best story (Ribos) is one of the best ever. Such a shame that after 26 episodes of searching for the Key that the ending was such a damp squib.
