Invalid Postcode
Hi,
I tried to do a freesat retune today to pick up the ITV HD channel, was using the red button, like everyone else before. It is now telling me that the postcode is invalid, and will not let me do a freesat scan. Now I am in Scotland, but have been using my foxsat since launch with my previous Bromley postcode, and had access to ITV HD on the red button with no problem. Does anyone have any idea why it would now say the postcode is invalid, does the box now somehow know where my box is ? What might the problem be? |

Sorry, just solved the problem.
I came out of the freesat scan and back to tv, then went back in and selected freesat scan again and it worked fine. Very strange! |

You get ITV HD in Scotland now anyway.

That is if you don't want to use the red button service on channel 977. |

I use my true post code in Aberdeenshire and it works perfectly. I used to have to put in an English one but STV and ITV came to an agreement and it works anywhere now.

Does anyone know when, or if, that agreement will extend to Sky.
ATM I do not have a dedicated ITV HD channel on the Sky EPG in Scotland, but can only view it through add channels. This means I can only record ITV HD on my Freesat box. Well, I better get more of my SD recordings copied over to my external HD to free up space on the Foxsat then. ![]() You see, I did the 1tb upgrade on the Sky box, but haven`t done the Foxsat yet. |

Out of interest I just did a number of re-tunes using Scottish postcodes:
Using AB53 *** and AB4 *** (both Aberdeenshire) I got: 101 BBC 1 Scotland 102 BBC 2 Scotland 103 STV 119 Nothing Using DGH10 *** (Dumfries & Galloway) and TD1 *** (Scottish Borders) I got: 101 BBC 1 Scotland 102 BBC 2 Scotland 103 ITV1 Borders 119 ITV1 HD So this seems to dispute what Bankhousehead says. Maybe his Aberdeenshire postcode is a blip.
