Yet again McDonald's have removed the Big Tasty from the menu in favour of another burger, the Quarter Pounder Deluxe. Last time they only did it for spring/summer, but hopefully they won't remove it completely this time as it's my favourite meal from McDonald's restaurants.

It was as big as Burger King's Whopper, and should definetely be the new 'Big Mac'.

Yes I enjoy this burger every once in a while and I'm not ashamed of it!

Anyone else feel the same?

I was never a fan of the big tasty. Something about the sauce that I didn't like. Consequently i've never taken much notice about it being on the menu, but to be honest I always thought it was a special edition and only available when they don't have other special edition burgers on the menu.

We have it all year round in Cyprus so I have no idea why they don't in the UK. We are moving back to the UK in the summer and my hubby is already comnplaining about the lack of Big Tastys in Britain

Why not make it yourself at home? It will be cheaper and healthier.

But it won't taste the same. Nothing beats that delicious McDonald's taste that everyone loves.

maybe in general but surely not for the Big Tasty. It must be the least popular item on the menu. A poor substitute for a Whopper.

I think the big tasty is the best burger they've ever done.

Like Eddie Murphy's 'green pepper burger'.

Always loads of people ordering it around here when its on.

It originally went as part of the revamp to make way for the sub sandwhich range iirc.

Jeez - I pictured a turn to camera and a quick flash of teeth, followed by "da da da da duuh...I'm loving it!", when I read that!

When you actually look at McDonalds Burger menu it is not that great, inspiring or imaganative:

Hamburger
Cheeseburger
Double Cheeseburger (Larger cheeseburger)
Quarter Pounder with Cheese (slighly larger cheeseburger than "Double Cheeseburger"
Big Mac
Quarter Pounder Deluxe (Larger Cheeseburger with Bacon)
The Big tasty is basically another (again slightly larger than Quarter Pounder) Cheeseburger and Bacon Cheeseburger with different sauce and salad.

All Mcdonalds offerings on the Beefburger side seem to be various size beef or cheeseburgers with different sauces or a slice of Bacon thrown in.

At least with BK they use other ingrediants such as Mushrooms.

Lol, I knew people would be like that, but that is basically one of the reasons why I won't make it at home.

The other reason why, as suggested, I can't make it at home is because McDonald's haven't released the ingredients or have them on sale to create any of their sandwiches.

I agree, the UK menu is craptastic. Over in the US they have delicious Angus Third Pounder burgers and an excellent choice of Premium chicken sandwiches.

If you could tell me what the sauce is on a big mac then I might make it at home - I have bought hundreds of different sauces and none of them are the sauce from the Big Mac

They also have a myriad of better burger joints than McDonalds so you would be crazy to be eating there in the first place.
