Whether it be New Who or Classic Who what do you think is the most emotional moment of any Doctor Who?

For me (as I have only watched New Who) I think it must be at the end of Series 4 where after everything The Doctor and Donna have been through the Doctor wipes Donna's mind but I hink the most emotional thing about this whole mind wiping part is when The Doctor says goodbye to Donna and Donna just says "yeah bye" because at that time she has no idea who he is and you can clearly see the sadness in The Doctors eyes

For me, the end of 'Fires of Pompeii', with Donna pleading with the Doctor to save "Just one, not all of them, just one"

Doomsday really did for me; right from the hands on the wall to Rose's tears... Really built up the emotion for me...

Probably explains why I never clicked with Donna. She broke the mood.

I find the ending of Midnight very emotional...when Donna hugs Ten, it is a genuinely touching moment between two friends.

In terms of classic who, even though I wasn't fond of the character, Adric's death and the silent credits always get to me.

Doomsday did it for me at first, I teared up every time I watched up. Up until the moment they said they were bringing Rose back for series 4 finale. Then it kind of made her exit a bit pointless.

I think it would be Fires of Pompeii now.

Although I did find myself getting a bit teary when 11 was explaining the choices he had in The beast Below.

DoctorDonna's realization that she needed to have her mind wiped and return to her old life is easily the most heartbreaking and emotion moment from the show for me. To be honest I'm still not totally happy that they left her the way she did, at least she has the Lottery Winnings I suppose, but still, she was such a brilliant companion who was more about being Human and a friend than a love interest which was just brilliant to watch CT and DT had built such a strong relationship between the pair, the moment DoctorDonna pleads for the Doctor not to erase her mind is simultaneously brilliant and horrible.

Also the bit just afterwards where the Doctor is explaining to Wilf and Donna's mum that on planets millions of miles away, people are singing songs of the great Donna Noble, I felt emotional then but in a more happy way in "Damn Right they are" sort of feeling.

Can you tell I was a major Donna fan lol, even after not being crazy on her in the Runaway Bride, she excelled herself in the main series

Donna having her mind wiped. The bit where she is talking and she starts repeating stuff like "binary, binary several times is just like sad because this thing has taken over her and something has to be done. Donna say something like "i wanted to travel with you for the rest of my life" is just so heartbreaking.

Donna about to be transported to the moment she turned right instead of left. Donna is telling Rose that she knows she aint gonna die but the world is. But Rose knows she is gonna die. Donna is pleading and saying "i know im not gonna die" and Rose looks at her and says "sorry"

I absolutley adored Donna. Fantastic. Fav companion. Series 4 is my fav season anyway. I was so happy, relieved and sad with how her character's arc ended. Catherine tate proved to be a fine actress. Not a stupid one who is known for swearing and being a teenager who is never bothered. She proved to do drama really well.

It's also Donna moments for me:

I think the detonation of the Vesuvius, from the moment he tells her that it's Pompeii or the world until when she lays her hand on his. I found it very powerfull

And the mind wiping

Amy's "What if you were really old?....." speech did it for me.

The whole of Father's Day.

Either when Donna's mind was wiped and the Doctor was saying to wilf about not mentioning him and Wilf was pleading with the dr to do something. Also i found the end of series 3 quite emotional when Marth was travelling the world, not in a sad way but in a kind of victorius way and also Doomsday. When they were against the wall although i still feel that they should of split the screen and had them each on either side of the screen with the screen split being the wall.

From classic Who, when Tom Baker is falling from the radio tower trying to hold on with clips of his enemies saying they want him dead. Knowing that it is the end of an era and that things would never be the same again it made me feel sad. The fact that Logopolis as a story is quite gloomy all the way through certainly helped contribute to that feeling.

I think a lot of people are underestimating Matt Smith I think he will be brilliant at all dramatic scenes

Miss Evangelista's death scene in The library 2 parter. The haunting repeating words from Evangelista. "don't tell the others, they'll only laugh". She asks for "the nice woman" or whatever and Poor Donna has the decency to stay with her when she dies.

Very haunting and sad.

In the new series it is all Donna related.

*In Pompeii when she was pleading with the doctor to save just one.
*The hug in midnight
*the bit in the library 2 parter where she realises her kids are not real
*the mind wipe

In the classic it was probably Adrics death

Love and Monsters. Very emotional for me. Just not in a good way.

A lot of the time the Who moments that are emotional are when companions leave, or the Doctor regenerates.

From Classic Who, the end of Hand of Fear when Sarah leaves is quite emotional and also the end of the Green Death where Pertwee drives into the sunset alone.
Tegan leaving at the end of the Resurrection of the Daleks was also quite sad.

From new Who, Fathers Day was excellent. I also found the episode where Tennant re-met Sarah Jane quite emotional.

The scene where Riversong whispers the Doctor's name into his ear, and his reaction to it.

It's my favourite episode, no matter what anyone says!

and when the Doctor told Wilf and Sylvia he'd borrowed the money for the lottery ticket from Donna's dad ... that gets me going every time

Sorry about all that, they aren't necessarily in that order apart from the Top 5. I also have a soft spot for Blon Slitheen when she is in the cafe with the Doctor (Nine) in Boom Town.

Seems the mindwipe is a fav among us dr who fans. I found her departure more sad then Rose's. Mainly because she will never remember.

Yea, Rose was lucky. First time round, she still had her memories, then she got to come back and get a new David Tennant!!!!!

Donna meanwhile lost all her memories of that and had a bittersweet happy ending that didn't really feel like hers. I really thought they were going to take Donna's story somewhere grander- Temple-Noble seems to insinuate something 'Timelord' seeing as Temp means 'time' and you would have a noble 'Lord'.
