Hi All,
A friend of mine has a cheap car GPS (I forget which make, it's not a big one like Tomtom or Navman though) that he was able to get it to drop into the Windows CE operating system on it. He bought and installed Memory Map Mobile and some maps (including aerial photos), it was very impressive and tracked the cars movement/heading whilst panning the aerial imagery.
This got me thinking, being a bit of a geek. A lot of double-din car DVD/GPS head units now run Windows CE. (do an ebay search for "Dual Zone GPS" and check out the specs)
Has anyone got any experience of installing other software on these devices? I'm not sure what's involved in getting them to 'drop into' Windows CE but I like the idea of aerial imagery or even 1:25k OS maps being displayed in my dash in real time, or even just run other Windows CE software on it!
Any help or information appreciated?!
Rob
