Before everyone goes off on one, read first..

If Rose WAS to return for the finale of Series 5 (which has kind of been rumoured around facebook-along with the return of David Tennant as the clone doctor) and it was really good i.e. done right, not rushed and delievered a good storyline i.e. which is needed for the whole thing to work, would those who are anti-Rose still enjoy it?

I personally wasn't too keen on Martha and wouldn't like to see her return, but if she did and it was done right, I would say fair dos as it worked.

Your thoughts?

Its not happening. The finale is about the Pandorica and features The Doctor, Amy, Rory and River Song (who meets up with the Doctor again after the events of episodes 4 & 5).

And if it was to happen, I would just stop watching. Rose is done. There was absolutely no need for her to return at the end of Series 4 IMHO, it completely ruined her perfect ending in the finale of Series 2.

I don't have a problem with Rose coming back, just so long as she has her teeth fixed...

Martha can come back, so long as she has decent lines written for her...

Sarah Jane will come back anyway... she's the proverbial penny...

I do have a problem with Donna coming back though, because the boundaries have been set that if she remembers, she dies. No amount of script re-writes should be allowed to worm their way around that.

My sentiments exactly. The series 4 return was totally unwarranted (and as for the clone Dr nonsense...) If Rose ever appeared in Dr Who again I would also stop watching out of sheer disgust.

She's not coming back. Can't we just move on?

Please. Pretty please. Not going to happen before 2013 with DT for the anniversary... if ever. I'll eat my hat if it does!

I would maybe do the same. Nothing against Rose but they spoiled her in Series 4. I didn't see the reason for her return. It was for just the fans who missed her and wanted her and doctor to have that beach scene again and admit his love for her.

I always held the impression that RTD had fallen in love with the Doctor/Rose love story and didn't think he had given it a proper ending with their seperation (apparently being completely unaware of the long tradition of tragic love stories like, for example, Romeo and Juliet or The Prisoner of Zenda).

It was therefore his desire, rather than something fans were demanding, to bring her back and give them a happy ending of sorts (as happy as lumbering her with a psychopathic clone can be).

Personally I have no desire to see her come back again, her last two returns were quite enough and I hope that Moffat's desire to clean the slate and move on will be enough to ensure it doesn't happen.

If Rose returns lets hope a Dalek takes aim with point blank range.

No. Her charactor was done in series 2; they brought her back to stand around doing nothing and then to get a clone version of the Doctor. And DT isn't coming back. Would be a bit of an anticlimax for MS's first series.

As much as I love Rose and was happy to see her return previously, I don't think it would be right for her to come back again. She was a brilliant companion, the best of New Who IMHO, but her time is over.

I hope the rumours of her and clone Doctor are not true as I definitely don't think David Tennant should come back - not because I'm not a huge fan, though I'm sure most people know I'm not, but because his time is definitely over and as much as DT was loved by many people Matt Smith IS the Doctor now and for his predecessor to re-appear so soon would undermine this.

The only companion who can come back is Martha. She never had a story to end with the doctor. Plus, she works for UNIT so the doctor is bound to work with UNIT again with Martha helping out.

Nope, she quit and went freelance with Mickey, apparently. So UNIT is a clean sheet if they want to re-use it.

Tennant seriously outstayed his welcome (literally in his final episode) so even 2013 might be too soon for absence to make the heart grow fonder in his case.

As for Rose never ever again.

She was unbearable as far back as Series 2 & if she never came back it would still be too soon.

now that was a departure that was dragged and milked to his final death scene.

Nobody suggested he'd be back this year, but in three years time. And it makes sense for him to return for the 2013 50th anniversary special. Rose coming back too would be similar to The Five Doctors.

Oh my god, what is the obsession with Rose? I'd actually just stop watching Doctor Who altogether if they returned again. I't be a piss take, seriously? do you think they would flog the dead horse that is 10 and Rose for Matt's brilliant first series? honestly, can't these fans look through their (no pun intended) "Rose tinted glasses" and see that even the suggestion is just ridiculous?

Rose had a brilliant and heart breaking ending in S2. Her S4 return looked promising at the end of Partners in Crime, and the little video snippets of her mid-series. Turn Left was good (if not for her weird teeth) But her finale return was rubbish, she did nothing, her return wasn't explained well, a canon? so the TARDIS can't go to the Petes world, but a canon can? geez. Then RTD basiclly created the whole Clone Doctor for Rose fans to be happy, as shes now in Petes World with the Doctor... END OF! Thats pretty final to me. Then theres the End of Time cameo, which I did like, as it didn't effect the ending for her story.

I dont want Rose to every return again. Billie has made it clear that she's moved on. She wont even allow Rose action figures anymore! She obviously wants to just move on. Theres only so many endings you can have for one character!

the OP says "not rushed and delievered a good storyline", how could it not be rushed? I mean come on... its the amazing Matt Smiths first series, the wonderful Karen's too. Wouldn't it be awful if Billie and David just showed up and just upstaged them all, in their 1st series?!?

I might come across as a big Rose hater (I was a fan of her in S1, but S2 onwards, she annoyed me) and actually my favourite companion is Martha, but I still dont want her to return either. All of RTD's era characters had their send-offs during the last 20 mins of End of Time Part 2 (10, Rose, Donna, Wilf, Martha, Mickey, Sarah Jane, Jack) I hated Martha's ending personally, but I've moved on now... that was a previous incarnation of the show, I don't want her to return.

So, thats one vote for them not to return!

DT and BP return in the finale, There the cause of the cracks, An the 11th doctor has to kill them both to stop the cracks spreading. That would lay the returns to rest i think

I wasn't anti-Rose. I thought her whole story was brilliant. Until they brought her back in S4. If they brought her back again it would just completely ruin her character. Just no, sorry, but no.

Come on people - show a little bit of respect. Rose was a superb companion and Billie Piper is a major part of Doctor Who's success since 2005. I don't think bringing her back in 2010 will benefit the show but I certainly don't think we should never see Rose again. I personally hope we see Rose and Doctor 10 clone again to celebrate the 50th in 2013. Just because something is old, doesn't mean it was crap!

if they brought rose back again, i might just stop watching dr who.

i was bored of her by the middle of the second season, and it shows no imagination to bring her back again, but luckily i think moffat isn't stupid enough to do it

Unless Amy is the clone and Rose's Love-child who fell through the crack...............

No enough Rose! I admit she was a bit part of the popularity of The shows rebirth but to me she's just another companion. If they did want to bring someone back it would have to be Jack. He still travels space and has more in common with the Doctor.

Although we don't actually know what timeframe that scene was from. By my calculations, dreadlocks aren't back in fashion until at least 2023...
