If Rose WAS to return for the finale of Series 5 (which has kind of been rumoured around facebook-along with the return of David Tennant as the clone doctor)...Your thoughts?”

Personally I don't think it would be a good idea. Rose, who was such an important character when the show came back, has had her day, and to bring her back at the moment would further devalue Rose as a character.

I would like to see David Tennant back...but in few years when the show reaches its 50th birthday (!). To bring him back now would overshadow Matt Smith! David Tennant was great, but it's time to look forward to the future!

I personally wasn't too keen on Martha and wouldn't like to see her return, but if she did and it was done right, I would say fair dos as it worked.

Bringing Rose back in itself would be a bad move, the series has moved on, and not a moment too soon.

Shes gone, why do we need to think about what will happen if she hadn't. Its like me starting a thread called "If the Brigadier WAS the 12th Doctor" or whatever.

Make it happen.

That weren't dreadlocks at all...

It's an interesting thread but academic. Have read somewhere today that Billie Piper is definitely not coming back as Rose and as has already been said on here already, I think it would be a backwards step for the new series if she did. The New series is proving to be fresh and original, lets hope it stays that way.

It was therefore his desire, rather than something fans were demanding, to bring her back and give them a happy ending of sorts (as happy as lumbering her with a psychopathic clone can be).”

That is, of course, only your impression as you say. If it was correct, though, it would show that writers aren't always the best judges of the quality of their own work, because the ending of Rose and the Doctor's story in Doomsday was perfect and the add-on ending in Journey's End was mince.

I don't think for a moment that she'll come back again, but I can't imagine that such a return would be desirable. Believe me, I love Rose; she's my favourite companion ever, but like all companions her time came to an end and we now have a new - and excellent - companion. I'm all for cherishing the memories, but let the past be the past.

If that happened I would scream at the TV in anger of bringing her back every god why series.
